Starring: Sam Worthington, Elizabeth Banks, Anthony Mackie, Jamie Bell, Ed Harris, Titus Welliver
Directed by: Asger Leth
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Man On A Ledge was one of those great thrillers that left me with a sour taste on my mouth at the end of the film. It was one of those really entertaining thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the 90 minutes, and at the end you ask yourself... Hey! What the heck did just happen?! Yes, but maybe that was just my personal experience.
Man On A Ledge gathered such a great cast, a pretty interesting "heist/thriller" plot, a decent direction, but a horrible ending.
Sam Worthington plays the role of Nick Cassidy, an ex-policeman arrested and convicted to 25 years in prison for stealing a $40 million diamond from businessman David Englander (Ed Harris). Nick Cassidy is innocent, and will do anything to prove it. While being in jail, he's informed that his father has died and attends his funeral while being in custody. After a confusing situation with his younger brother and the police, Nick neutralizes the custody agents and escapes.
Later on, he checks in at the Roosevelt Hotel under the false name of Walker, goes to his hotel room at the top floor, and climbs on the ledge, apparently ready to commit suicide. The crowd below sees him and calls the police. After isolating the area, Agent Jack Dougherty (Edward Burns) tries to talk with Nick. However, he says he will only speak to negotiator Lydia Mercer (Elizabeth Banks), who is on a leave of absence after failing to convince a depressed policeman not to jump from the Brooklyn Bridge a month earlier. Nick knows her work and determination, and he's decided to use her on his plan.
Lydia and Jack have no idea of who Nick (alias Mr. Walker) is, his past or something that could lead them to the real reason of his dangerous decision of possibly jump and take his life. Lydia is able to get Nick's fingertips. They will soon discover that Nick is an ex-policeman who was arrested for the well-known case of stealing a $40 million diamond from businessman David Englander. Nick, however, constantly says he is innocent and tries to convince Lydia that Englander used to employ cops to protect his multi-floor jewelry business. He told her that one day, while Nick was on duty, he was knocked unconscious by two men in ski masks and awakened to find out Englander had framed him for stealing the diamond in order to get the insurance money, as he had lost his fortune during the stock market crisis.
Everyone thinks that Nick is playing them just to get attention, but the truth is that Nick is merely distracting them while his brother Joey and Joey's girlfriend Angie break into Englander's upper floor jewelry vault in the building across the street to steal the diamond and prove Nick's innocence.
Agents Dante Marcus and Mike Ackerman are involved with David Englander, providing him protection. Lydia is informed about this situation and knows that Nick is in danger if he's finally captured. Nick and his brother are caught and taken to the roof of Englander's building to face Englander. Englander recovers the diamond previously stoled by his brother and leaves the scene. Lydia save them and in a very risky move, Nick gets to Englander, who has already left the building. At the end, Nick is able to demonstrate he is innocent, but as said before, after going through a very entertaining and edgy thriller with ups and downs throughout the whole film, they just end it with a pretty lame end.
I must say that I'm very pleased with Elizabeth Bank's performance. She's one of those actresses that has been improving her presence and acting performance, getting important roles in relevant films. Sam Worthington also played a pretty decent role in this film, making a great combination.
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: Blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, IMF operative Ethan Hunt is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates "Ghost Protocol". Left without any resources or backup, Ethan must find a way to clear his agency's name and prevent another attack. To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow IMF fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know.

Starring: Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Josh Holloway, Anil Kapoor, Léa Seydoux, Tom Wilkinson
Directed by: Brad Bird
U.S. Rating: PG-13
It's clear that the "nuclear war game" is always profitable for good Hollywood action films, and Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol was not an exception. Brad Bird brought one more time the IMF team, led by Ethan Hunt, to save the world from the bad guys and prevent an imminent war between the U.S. and Russia.
It's clear that every single director has shown their own personal style on each of the four Mission Impossible films, starting with Brian De Palma nearly fifteen years ago. He tried to keep the film so close to the original TV series. John Woo and J.J. Abrams tried to give a more relevant approach to Ethan Hunt's character and mixing it with his personal life. What I liked from Brad Bird's job was the exceptional work he did trying to focus the attention to Ethan Hunt's character over any other character on the film. I honestly could say that it looked like a light version of a James Bond film, with the only difference that in this particular case, Ethan Hunt supported his mission on a team that worked synchronized under his leading plan.
Obviously, it's not a surprise that Tom Cruise excelled his acting performance. The plot of the film might not be new, but we certainly can believe that it was extremely enjoyable for the amazing cast gathered for the film, and especially, for Tom Cruise's unique performace. He clearly matched director Brad Bird's vision and personal style.
Director Brad Bird had the unique style to mix the human side of each one of the main characters involved in the team, with some thrilling action scenes, AMAZING stunts (especially the ones performed by Tom Cruise himself!) and some drama.
In Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol, a secret agent is working on an assigment in Budapest trying to get some top secret documents related with nuclear bombs activities. This secret agent is killed by a professional assassin working for another team of extremists. Ethan Hunt is in a Russian prision and he's extracted by a IMF special team. Soon, he'll get his first assignment: To get some secret information attached to the documents lost by the agent killed in Budapest. They will have to get to the secret vault in the Kremlin. Ethan Hunt and his team are framed, accused of terrorism, and the IMF is shut down. Ethan Hunt and his team will have to obtain these secret codes and information before they get to the wrong hands, but they won't count with all the logistics, assistance and protection of their agency. They will have to perform this dangerous secret mission using all they have... Their knowledge, skills and few weapons.
The end of the film shows clearly what we already knew, that we'll enjoy sometime soon a Mission Impossible 5.
I would rate this movie with a 4.5/5

I must start this personal review with a weird situation faced last Friday night when I went to watch the film at our local theatre. I got there and asked the guy for a ticket. He told me... "Sorry! The Mechanic is sold out!"... I got really pissed, since I was planning for the last two weeks to go and watch it. Anyway, as soon as the guy told me that, he inmediately said... "Do you want a ticket for The King's Speech instead?"... I tried for a few seconds to digest his offer and finally had to respond... "What the heck has The King's Speech to do with The Mechanic?! Is it an action film by any chance?!"... Obviously the guy answered me "No", so I finally told him... "there's your answer :)".
Anyway, I had the chance to go and watch it on Saturday evening. I was looking for watching it for a while, so I had some really good expectations. The film was pretty good. Obviously, it was a remake of a really tough classic with Charles Bronson, the only problem? Jason Statham didn''t deliver what we were expecting. He did I really good job though, but we missed something...
As said before, The Mechanic is a remake of one of Charles Bronson's classic from 1972. The film starts with Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) killing one of his targets, a very wealthy and powerful Colombian drug dealer. Not even his amazing and large personal army can stop Arthur to accomplish his objective, why? Because he's a hit man who performs his jobs cleanly, without leaving a trace of his work. As he says it later "The best jobs are the ones where they never knew you were there". He's a professional focused in every single detail related with his targets, he studies them, he learns from them, he knows every single detail and secrets about them and their lives.
Arthur works exclusively for an international secret organization, which has very strict rules: even those members who are becoming slightly unreliable are assassinated, long before they jeopardize their organization. Henry McKenna (Donald Sutherland), is another hit man working for the same organization. He is not just like Arthur's father and close friend, but his mentor. He's taught him everything he knows and he's the person who sets the jobs for him.
When Arthur gets his next assignment, he finds out that his target is Henry. He refuses to take action against Henry without knowing the reasons of this decision, so he meets with the head of this secret organization. He's told that Henry has become a threat for the organization, since he leaked some information in a recent job done in Cape Town, South Africa. Because of this leaked information, all the team assigned for this job was assassinated.
Arthur, being the best in the business, doesn't hesitate and kills his mentor, Henry. Right after Henry is buried, Arthur meets Steve McKenna (Ben Foster), Henry's son. Steve is a mess, he can't coup with the death of his father and he's planning to take revenge on this situation killing random people. Arthur stops him and, even though he feels reluctant during the first couple of days, he decides to become his mentor.
Arthur gives Steve his first assignment while he's being trained, to kill another hit man working for a competitor. Even when Arthur taught him how to do the job clean, Steve decides to do it "his way"... a very messy and rude way. When Arthur gets his next assignment, he decides to share it with Steve and work together, but a very small detail destroys their "clean" job and it turns into a violent operation.
While they escape, Arthur finds out on his way home that he was framed and "The Company" he works for made him kill his best friend for the wrong reasons. He takes it personally and decides to go against "The Company", killing every single one of them.
While preparing for this last job and revenge, Steve finds something that shows him Arthur was his father's assassin. He works with Arthur and helps him to complete this last job and revenge against the people who planned his dad's assassination and then tries to take revenge against his mentor and father's assassin, Arthur.
Personally, I really enjoyed the film. It had a really good action-packed plot and direction. They tried to keep that interaction between the modern days and the 70's, including of the old filming action-style, something I really liked and enjoyed. As said before, the downside of this film was the lead role. Jason Statham is extremely good looking like the man for the job, but there was something missing that I can't really identify yet. Ben Foster played a really good supporting role as Steve. I really enjoyed his work on this film.
I haven't watched the original film from 1972, but now that I watched and enjoyed this one, I will definitely look for watching Charles Bronson's original version. You can find more about it here.
I would rate this movie with a high 3/5

I'm not into these Sci-Fi kind of films, but after watching films like Cloverfield and District 9, I thought I'd give Monsters a try.
I must say that it was such an amazing project, being produced with just a short budget (less than $500.000) and shot in just 3 weeks. Director Gareth Edwards and his crew did such an amazing job with this film. I must express my admiration for their amazing work. It is interesting to read about the project and how it was completed (places, people involved, budget, time, etc). This is the positive side of this review.
The negative side is that I wasn't convinced or entertained the way I'd expect. Thinking on previous films like Cloverfield, War of the Worlds, District 9, etc., I was expecting a film packed with some great CGI effects and action scenes. I must say it had some petty good visual effects, but the big effort was based on the emotional side of the plot, a romantic drama in a desolated environment controlled by monsters.
I've read a long list of reviews and comments about this film, and it seems that I'm the only one who didn't get it or like it! Most of the reviews and comments express their best concept and opinions about the film. I didn't like it or at least, didn't get its concept or main idea. My personal impression is that the plot was extremely slow and boring.
I might have to watch the film once again from a different perspective and try to get what other people got from this film.
I would rate this movie with a 2/5

There, she is renamed Ginormica and placed in confinement with a ragtag group of other monsters: the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus. I always love to enjoy a good animated film. Monsters vs Aliens is one of those films. I had the chance to watch this film over the weekend (in Blu Ray) and it was such a really entertaining time. I should say that it is not as good as some of the latest (and older) animated films, but it did the job.
The battle between monsters kept by the goverment in a secret location and program is being used to fight the aliens who have come to Earth and battle humanity. Who are the monsters? normal humans who have changed their "human" conditions in independent incidents and experiments. The Aliens have decided to come to Earth to recover a precious rock or mineral that crashed in our Planet. Thinking they're a superior race and minds, the aliens could be considered a bunch of show off! Ginormica, B.O.B., Dr. Cockroach Ph.D., The Missing Link and Insect-o-saurus will fight the aliens and have a great time doing it!
Totally recommended for kids and adults! I really had a good time watching it.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Definitely my favorite monster is Insect-o-saurus. I laughed so hard with him!
2. Such a good cast behind the voices and characters
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. Nothing

Synopsis: A young man awakens from a four-year coma to hear that his once virginal high-school sweetheart has since become a centerfold in one of the world's most famous men's magazines. I thought that Miss March would be an entertaining comedy, but it was far from it! The film starts offering a few good laughs and suddenly, it turns into something extremely boring and annoying. A script empty of good content, ideas and no funny at all. It offered some sexist, bizarre and non-sense situations, The cast was pretty boring, especially Tucker Cleigh (Trevor Moore) who seemed to take the lead role after the first 1/3 part of the film. The more he appeared in camera and talked, the more annoying he became.
Miss March, an unfunny comedy only recommended as a very last option, and you must be conscious that you're getting what many people considered one of the worst movies out in 2009!
What did I like from this movie?
1. Hugh Hefner... what a pimp!
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The cast was boring
2. the script has no content or ideas, after 20 minutes, it was just a boring story based on random and non-sense situation

Synopsis: Michael Jackson takes a final bow in this theatrical concert film featuring rehearsal footage of the late megastar as he practiced for the 100 shows in London that never came to be. HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL's Kenny Ortega handles direction duties as well as choreography chores for the HD-shot film.
Starring: Michael Jackson
Directed by: Kenny Ortega
U.S. Rating: PG
As a big Michael Jackson's fan who would have loved to be in one of his concerts in London last summer, I must admit that this musical-documentary shows the rehearsals of what would have been such an amazing show in musical history. I must admit that I never agreed with all the weird things surrounding his personal life and the way he lived it, but no one, absolutely no one can say that he won't be the king of pop forever.
The best thing about this musical-documentary is that it looks it never was intended to be filmed for public viewing, and it makes it even more spontaneous and original, showing all those little details that made him the best in the pop music world.
On this documentary, MJ goes through some of his best and most memorable songs, giving us a glimpse of what would have been a series of concerts that would show why he was the king. Totally recommended if... you're an MJ fan :)
What did I like from this movie?
1. The songs selection for this documentary was the best
2. All the video material and effects that was prepared for the concerts, especially the material for The Earth Song and Thriller... simply amazing!
3. The band was absolutely impressive, especially the girl and guy playing the guitars
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. I would have add more song, music to the documentary, but it was more than ok
I would rate this movie with a 4/5

Just another great film that brings the perfect combination: A strong plot supported by an amazing cast. Starring Denzel Washington, Merryl Streep and Liev Schreiber, this remake of the original film from 1962 has been declared by many different critics as a stronger, much better and entertaining production than the original one. Adapted to our times, Denzel Washington plays the role of U.S. Army Major Bennett Marco, who tries to find the reason of his weird dreams about a very particular and important incident faced by his unit in Kuwait. The plot is based on a list of events and situations that will lead him to the answer to his questions and weird dreams, to the point of saving the life of the new elected president of the U.S. This is a great recommendation for anyone who's looking for an amazing action-thriller to watch at home.
What did I like from this movie?

2. A very entertaining and strong plot

Synopsis: Sara and Brian Fitzgerald's life with their young son and their two-year-old daughter, Kate, is forever altered when they learn that Kate has leukemia. The parents' only hope is to conceive another child, specifically intended to save Kate's life. For some, such genetic engineering would raise both moral and ethical questions; for the Fitzgeralds, Sara in particular, there is no choice but to do whatever it takes to keep Kate alive. And what it takes is Anna. Kate and Anna share a bond closer than most sisters: though Kate is older, she relies on her little sister--in fact, her life depends on Anna. Throughout their young lives, the sisters endure various medical procedures and hospital stays--just another part of their close-knit family's otherwise normal life. Sara, a loving wife and mother who left her career as an attorney to care for her daughter, is sometimes lost inside the single-minded caregiver she has become in her efforts to save Kate. Her strong, supportive husband, Brian, is often rendered powerless and passive by his wife's strength and determination. And their only son, Jesse, drifts, at times all but forgotten as Kate and Anna take center stage. Until Anna, now 11, says "no." Seeking medical emancipation, she hires her own lawyer initiating a court case that divides the family and that could leave Kate's rapidly failing body in the hands of fate.

I had no idea what this movie was about. I knew it was a book and I knew there was a girl with cancer in it but that is all I knew. I was NOT prepared for what I would see and feel. It was brilliant. I cried so much. My eyes and mind were completely fixated on this story. It is so sad. Know that. It is sad. You get your heart ripped out a few times in this movie. It really affected me. Great acting all around. Perfect really! They cast this really really well. I can't imagine ANYONE else playing these parts. I truly believed they were all a family and I REALLY felt like Kate had cancer. What a transformation. In the ending you finally understand what is going on and your heart just breaks. Really well done. Everyone should see this with a box of tissues. Don't say I didn't warn you.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The casting. Really great cast and everyone did a great job
2. The makeup artist that made Kate a cancer patient. Wow. I'm still in shock at how real she looked
3. It was an emotional roller coaster the whole movie. I love those tearjerkers. It makes me feel alive that I can feel something so deeply in a movie
4. Beautiful storyline. Only something a novelist could write. Not a screen play writer. I love book adaptations
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. That I had no idea what this movie was about and I cried like a baby because I wasn't prepared
I would rate this movie with a 5/5

Synopsis: A Greek tour guide named Georgia attempts to recapture her kefi (Greek for “mojo”) by guiding a ragtag group of tourists around Greece and showing them the beauty of her native land. Along the way, she manages to open their eyes to the wonders of an exotic foreign land while beginning to see the world through a new set of eyes in the process.
Starring: Nia Vardalos, Richard Dreyfuss, Harland Williams, Rachel Dratch, Caroline Goodall
Directed by: Donald Petrie
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Nia Vardalos, the writer and star of one of the sweetest movies I've watched so far, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, is back with a new "Greek" romantic comedy. Nia plays the role of a tour guide who deeply loves all the ancient history involved in Greece cuture and architecture but has no luck in sharing this knowledge and passion to her tourist group. Besides this lack of passion from his group, she seems to be placed in second place, getting the worst bus, bus driver and hotels. On her latest tour trip, she decides to quit her job and make this trip her last tour. She never expects the experience she lives with her group, the influence she can make in other people's lives and how they can affect in hers. She also finds the love of her life and all this experience makes her to move forward and keep working on this tour company. A really entertaining romantic comedy, definitely not as funny and sweet as My Big Fat Greek Weeding, but entertaining though.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The tourist stereotypes, so true! Really funny
2. The competition between Nia and the other tour guide. Really funny the simple technique used by the other tour guide: Souvenirs?
3. The moment when she's leaving the hotel and drops the letter at the hotel reception. So funny how the receptionist hits on her
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The cast could be much better. Having some good people involved, like Richard Dreyfuss, it could be much better. It wasn't as funny and good as it should be
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: Reporter Bob Wilton is in search of his next big story when he encounters Lyn Cassady, a shadowy figure who claims to be part of an experimental U.S. military unit. According to Cassady, the New Earth Army is changing the way wars are fought. A legion of "Warrior Monks" with unparalleled psychic powers can read the enemy's thoughts, pass through solid walls, and even kill a goat simply by staring at it. Now, the program's founder, Bill Django, has gone missing and Cassady's mission is to find him. Intrigued by his new acquaintance's far-fetched stories, Bob impulsively decides to tag along. When the pair tracks Django to a clandestine training camp run by renegade psychic Larry Hooper, the reporter is trapped in the middle of a grudge match between the forces of Django's New Earth Army and Hooper's personal militia of super soldiers. In order to survive this wild adventure, Bob will have to outwit an enemy he never thought possible.

The Men Who Stare at Goats, a film about a secret and "special" elite military unit, trained to use paranormal and psychic powers against their enemies. The only problem is that these powers might be extremely questionable! The movie is about Bob Wilton, a reporter who seems to be lost in his professional progress and personal life, his career seems to go nowhere and his wife cheats on him with a colleague... the worst thing? she does it in the same work office! Trying to find the perfect story to impress his wife and get her back, Bob follows the link about a secret "special" military unit commanded by a very controversial captain who uses the weirdest theories and techniques to succeed against their enemies. Bob flies to Kuwait, trying to cross the border and enter in Irak, looking for that great story that will boost his career and personal life. There, in Kuwait, he meets Lyn Cassady, the best soldier from this elite unit and crosses the border with him. The story is told throughout all this process and the experience crossing the border, until the moment when they arrive to one of their bases in Irak.
The Men Who Stare at Goats offers such a great and entertaining plot, offering some good comedy and drama, all mixed with a great role representation by such an amazing cast. I believe we could divide the plot in two half: The first half is loaded with so much comedy and hilarious situations. The second half, the comedy takes a step back and we get involved with some drama, mixed with some hilarious situations at the end of the film.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The first scene of the film, HILARIOUS! When General Hopgood tries to cross the wall, using his special powers
2. The moment when they're driving on the desert and they crash against a rock in the middle of nowhere
3. The situation with the new cooking device, hilarious!
4. The whole situation when they're kidnapped and how he uses his psychic powers to take control over the bad guys
5. Jeff Bridges, in such a "Big Lebowski" personality, brings some really entertaining and hilarious situations to the plot
6. I really liked the supporting roles and cast involved in this plot, so professional and entertaining
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The director could have kept the comedy dosis through the whole movie, and not reduce it drastically in the second half of the film, even though, it was worth to watch from the first minute to the end
I would rate this movie with a 4/5

Synopsis: It's been nearly a year since volatile detective Ben Carson was suspended from the NYPD for fatally shooting another undercover officer, an accident that not only cost him his job, but fueled the alcoholism and anger that has alienated his wife and kids and left him crashing on his sister's couch in Queens. Desperate to pull his life together, Carson takes a job as a night watchman at the burned-out ruins of the Mayflower department store, which was destroyed by a massive fire that devoured numerous innocent lives. As Carson patrols the eerie, charred remains of the store, he begins to notice something sinister about the ornate mirrors that adorn the Mayflower walls. Reflected in the gigantic shimmering glass are horrific images that stun Carson. Beyond projecting gruesome images of the past, the mirrors appear to be manipulating reality as well. When Carson sees his own reflection being tortured, he suffers the physical effects of his fractured visions. His sympathetic but skeptical sister Angela dismisses these bizarre 'nightmares' as a consequence of his stress and guilt over the accidental shooting, but Carson's estranged wife Amy, a no-nonsense NYPD medical 2 examiner, is less forgiving. Her husband's increasingly erratic behavior frightens her, pushing his family farther away--and, she fears, it's putting their children in danger. As Carson investigates the mysterious disappearance of a Mayflower security guard and its possible connection to his ghastly visions, he realizes that a malevolent, otherworldly force is using reflections as a gateway to terrorize him and his family. Carson must somehow uncover the truth behind the mirrors--and convince Amy to help him battle the greatest evil he has ever faced.

One of the best action TV series of all times, Miami Vice gets to the big screen by the hand of Michael Mann, with a good plot and lead characters with the charisma of a dead goat. Everyone that watched at least one of the episodes will notice immediately the huge difference between the great charisma and life style that Don Johnson and Philip Michael Tomas brought to the TV series in the 80's. It was all about high class, great cars, fashion, and lots of action, characters with a great and unique charisma and lots of action. No matter what, this film brings good action, and a high quality of image, being shot in HD format (Viper FilmStream High-Definition Camera) the technology that has become Michael Mann's personal stamp in all of his most recent movies. If you're a huge lover of this great action TV series from the 80's, you'll enjoy a good film. Totally recommended.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The high quality of the image in this film, thanks to the HD format technology used by Michael Mann
2. Great action scenes, some of them really cruel and real, for example, the last action scene, when they face the exchange and everyone starts shooting at each other (police and dealers)
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The lead characters. Definitely, Colin Farrell was the WORST choice to represent Don Johnson in this movie
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: Bill is unhappy: he's married a banker's daughter and has a non-job at the bank; his wife Jess is tied to daddy's purse-strings; and, Bill is developing a gut from lack of exercise and constantly eating candy bars. He dreams of buying a donut franchise to be independent of Jess's dad. Bill is roped into a mentoring program at his old prep school, assigned a smart-mouthed kid who pops up when least expected. When Jess starts an affair with Chip, a local TV personality and vain Rob Lowe look-alike, it sends Bill, the kid, and a young sales clerk from a lingerie shop on a quest to win back Jess and get the donuts. What about self-respect?
Starring: Aaron Eckhart, Jessica Alba, Elizabeth Banks, Timothy Olyphant
Directed by: Melissa Wallack, Bernie Goldmann
U.S. Rating: R
An entertaining but entirely forgettable plot. Aaron Eckhart is Bill, a middle-age married guy, facing a middle-age crisis. The whole purpose and idea of this plot is showing how Bill fights his crisis and finds himself at the end of this journey. The plot offers some really funny moments and scenes, as well as some annoying and boring scenes played by some of the supporting roles. I could say that this movie has its ups and downs, starts and finishes with some really good scenes and situations, but loses its essence in the middle of the story.
What did I like from this movie?
1. One of my favorite moments, when Bill is driving and he sees the board "On the scene" with Chip
2. The whole situation with his wife and how she was being unfaithful, the way he found out and all the funny consequences
3. When Bill is watching the news on TV and he sees his belly coming out of the corner and he says... "is that my stomach?... is that my stomach?!?!"
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. Jessica Alba's role was nothing special, I was expecting something else or something more relevant
2. The moment when Bill and the kid are throwing fireworks at each other, too much for me watching an adult doing that!
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: Mike Cranshaw and Sue Claussen have a chance encounter when Sue checks into the roadside motel owned by Mike's parents in Arizona. What starts with a bottle of wine "compliments of management" soon evolves into a multi-layered, cross-country journey of two people looking for a sense of purpose. Mike, an aimless dreamer, bets it all on a trip to Sue's workplace in Maryland only to find that she has no place for him in her carefully ordered life. Buttoned down and obsessed with making a difference in the world, Sue goes back to her yogurt mogul ex-boyfriend Jango, who promises her a chance to head his charity operations. But, having found something worth fighting for, Mike pits his hopes against Sue's practicality, and the two embark on a twisted, bumpy, freeing journey to discover that their place in the world just might be together.

We have this famous quote in my country, Venezuela: "Pida por esa boca, porque nunca se sabe cuando están por dar" (Possible translation: "Ask for it, since you never know when they are about to give you some"). How could you possibly imagine that grabbing a butt chick from someone like Jennifer Aniston would be so easy?!... hahaha. Honestly, I don't know what to think of this movie. I must say that I liked it, but I don't really know the reason yet! I've read some reviews about this movie, and at least, we must say that it has got a wide mix of comments. The truth is that I kinda liked the plot because it brought so many different and unexpected situations that I was actually intriged on what could happen at the end of the movie, and especially, with Mike's life. Jennifer Aniston looks great in this movie, she looked so fresh and young that my wife even asked me if this movie really was on theaters this year. Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn play great roles in this movie, even though, I believe that Jennifer Aniston has been stuck in these same roles for a long time. Steve Zahn played such a really good role, not just in some scenes where he had to reflect some good drama, but also, some really funny scenes. Woody Harrelson, well... I believe he's one of those actors that I couldn't define (funny, weird), his role in this movie brought at least, few minutes of fun and laughs. I definitely could say that is a entertaining movie :)
What did I like from this movie?
1. Steve Zahn's behavior could must have been widely considered "stalking", but the way he did it was so freaking funny!
2. The new friend he found, the asian guy and how he encourages him to do some childish but funny things
3. I like the message and lesson he gives her when she meets him in the basement of the chinesse restaurant to let him know that she's getting married
4. I liked the way he moved forward following his dreams and always included the people he loved
5. The funny scene and situation when he's living with the monks, the whole situation with the volleyball games
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. She never tells him that this baby could be his, since she was alone by the time they were together
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

If you like chick flicks then this is a great one! I am a big fan of Janeane Garofalo because of her "no frills" kind of style. I've watched this one several times, and I've always enjoyed it. Nice chemistry between the cast, beautiful scenery, good lines. An all around good romantic comedy
What did I like from this movie?
1. I liked the sexy banter between Marcy and Sean!
2. I liked the part where they were in the pub and Marcy judges the singers
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. Nick (Denis Leary) plays a stereotypical jerk. He didn't seem to have a reason to be such a jerk
I would rate this movie with a 4/5

Ok, let's be honest. I'm a loyal fan of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. I've watched most of their movies and I must say that this one was one of the crappiest plots they have been involved with. A plot with not substance. I remember the time when I went to the cinema, and after watching the first half of this movie, I wanted to leave the room, feeling bored. I'm glad that Brad Pitt denied that they (Brad and Angelina) could film a sequel of this film, or work any other possible movie together, since it brings to much crap to the media. Maybe is not the media, but a plot and movie like this one, no matter the good match and chemistry you feel between the stars. Anyway, in this plot, Brad and Angelina play a married couple, both of them work for secret organizations as a hitman/hit woman. None of them know their own secret lives and jobs, but when they've been assigned to kill the same objective (and fail), they become target of each others. At the end, they get together and fight back against the secret organizations they worked for.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The scenes when they're working their marriage, the marital therapy is kinda entertaining
2. The scene when Brad Pitt gets in the bar to kill his target, playing the drunk guy with money
3. Vince Vaughn is always a funny plus for any movie
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The plot didn't have substance, I personally got bored in the movie theater, even though, I can still watch it when I'm bored on a boring afternoon at home
I would rate this movie with a 2/5

Synopsis: Cady Heron is a cultural blank slate when she first sets foot on the grounds of North Shore High School in a small town outside of Chicago, Illinois. After living in Africa, Cady, now a junior, has no idea how "wild" things can be in civilization until she crosses paths with one of the meanest species of all, the "Queen Bee," who at this particular high school is the cool and calculating Regina George. But Cady doesn't just cross paths with this Queen Bee--she really stings her when she falls for Regina's ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels. Now Regina is set to sting back by pretending to still like Aaron so he won't go out with Cady, all the while pretending to be her friend. With no choice but to use the same M.O. to stay in the game, the "Girl World" one-upmanship escalates until the entire school gets dragged into a first-class mean-fest.
Starring: Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Amy Poehler
Directed by: Mark Waters
U.S. Rating: PG-13
I personally believe that the cast totally made the difference in this movie. The plot could be considered just another high school teen movie, offering nothing that we wouldn't have seen a million times before, but once again, the cast made the difference and brought to the big screen a really funny and entertaining movie. Even though, the main role was played by Lindsay Lohan, I personally believe that Rachel McAdams and Tina Fey brought the best moments, roles and entertainment to this movie.
What did I like from this movie?
Actually, there are two situations that I considered funny in this movie
1. This is Damian, he's "almost too gay to function..."
2. The moment when Linsay Lohan convinces Rachel to eat those granola bar saying that it will help her to drop some pounds but at the end, these were bars to gain muscle and fat
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. Well, I couldn't say there was something I dislike about the movie, I could only say that I'm not a big fan of Lindsay Lohan
I would rate this movie with a 2/5

Starring: Sandra Bullock, Regina King, Enrique Murciano, William Shatner, Ernie Hudson
Directed by: John Pasquin
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Being such a fan of Sandra Bullock, I believe this sequel was not one of the best in her record. But, it wasn't her fault at all! The plot was a basic script that relies heavily on repeating gags from its predecessor, which I consider was way much better than this sequel. It brings some good laughs, but the plot was not able to offer good material for almost 2 hours. I started enjoying it at the beginning of the movie, some moments in the middle of the story, but definitely felt like the end didn't offer much, or it was just me getting really bored after (almost) 2 hours watching this movie.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The moment when Sandra is talking with the other agent at the airport and she says "You might consider a tic-tac"
2. Some scenes when she's tracing the people involved with the kidnapping
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. As said before, the plot was a basic script that relies heavily on repeating gags from its predecessor
I would rate this movie with a 3/5
