Synopsis: Ryan Bingham, is a corporate downsizing expert whose cherished life on the road is threatened just as he is on the cusp of reaching ten million frequent flyer miles and just after he's met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams.

Starring: George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick, Jason Bateman, Danny McBride
Directed by: Jason Reitman
U.S. Rating: R
Excellent film. Obviously it wouldn't win an Oscar for Best Picture, but it was totally worth to be at least, nominated.
I felt some empathy for the story, maybe because I DO enjoy to fly and I DO love Airports. I really like that kind of life. I know it has its benefits, but it also has lots of turndowns, some of them are being clearly exposed on this movie.
Up in the Air brings the story of Ryan Bingham (George Clooney), a man who travels all over the U.S. working for a company that helps other companies with the unpleasant process of firing people. He spends more than 10 months per year traveling around the U.S., collecting miles for all these flights, hotels and services. His personal goal is achieve 10 million miles and be one of the few exclusive clients with access to the highest benefits of Airlines and hotels.
His company is trying to set a new remote system to decrease the expenses and time telecommuting, something that of course, he's opposed. His job is unique, it can't be done remotely, and he's willing to demonstrate it. Helping the new team member, Natalie (Anna Kendrick), the one responsible for the new project, Ryan shows her the business and some other important lessons in life. He also learns from her some important and valuable lessons.
Ryan also meets Alex Goran (Vera Farmiga, who looks really beautiful in this film), an executive woman with a similar life style. They arrange their schedules to always meet in different cities and enjoy their new relationship, an open relationship with no ties or responsibilities. Soon, Ryan will notice that his feelings are changing and due to some of the lessons learned from Natalie, he decides to move forward and make this relationship work, adding some more responsibilities to it. On this process, he'll face a cruel reality.
At the end, Ryan learns how to manage and face the new changes and challenges in his life and how to manage his relationship with his family.
I totally recommend the film. It's a smart plot played by such an amazing plot! So pleasure to watch.

Synopsis: With stolen top-secret technology, terrorists have created a next-generation Universal Soldier - an elite fighter genetically altered into a programmable killing machine. With this "UniSol" (Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei "The Pit Bull" Arlovski) leading the way, they seize the crippled Chernobyl nuclear reactor, threatening to unleash a lethal radioactive cloud. The only one who can stop them is Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a UniSol who's been decommissioned for years. Reactivated and retrained, Deveraux must make a full-out assault on the heavily armed fortress. But inside, he'll discover not one but two of these virtually indestructible warriors. Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren), Deveraux's vicious UniSol enemy from the original Universal Soldier, has been secretly reanimated and upgraded. Now, these elite fighters are locked, loaded and programmed to kill; and the fate of millions hinges on this high-action showdown.

Starring: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Andrei Arlovski, Garry Cooper, Emily Joyce
Directed by: John Hyams

There was a time when I was a huge fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme films. Yes, I was! I kinda enjoyed also Dolph Lundgren when he played the Russian boxer in Rocky IV, among other good old action films. I even enjoyed the first Universal Soldier, I really did. Those good times and films are history. I can't believe I would watch these two actors playing again in a sequel of this film eighteen years later!
These two actors, especially Jean Claude, are part of those rare cases of actors or actresses that get worse instead of improving with time. Universal Soldier: Regeneration is a vivid prove of this observation. I remember the first time I wrote about the future release of this film. I said that if there was someone perfect for this film, it was Jean Claude Van-Damme, just because he was the lead role in Universal Soldier more than 15 years ago. All the following sequels and films related with this franchise have been awful, extremely bad. I wasn't expecting this new sequel to be different or better than the previous ones, that's why I'm not impressed that it was released directly on DVD and Blu-Ray.
I had the chance to (hardly) watch the film on DVD and I was impressed of how awful these two - once famous - actors played their roles. It was a boring plot with no chemistry or emotions, nothing new and just a couple of good punches or kicks. That was all.
What did I like from this movie?
!. I thought I'd like to watch these two actors again but... I didn't

Synopsis: U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard and his street-smart deputies pursue Sheridan, a new fugitive who is accused of two New York assassinations. Aiding Gerard is a cocky young government operative who proves to be a match for Gerard's tactical and intellectual strengths.

Starring: Tommy Lee Jones, Wesley Snipes, Robert Downey Jr., Joe Pantoliano, Daniel Roebuck
Directed by: Stuart Baird, Gary Davis
U.S. Rating: PG-13
I should state that this film is worth to watch for Tommy Lee Jones' lead performance. Even though it offers such an amazing cast, the script was simply ok. It was able to deliver some action and suspense, but I couldn't feel that special chemistry among the lead characters (Tommy Lee Jones, Wesley Snipes & Robert Downey Jr).
I could say that it is a variant of the film The Fugitive. Mark Sheridan (Wesley Snipes) is a special agent who's been framed in a confusing incident, accused of killing two asian diplomatic members. After facing an accident, Mark Sheridan is able to escape and have the chance to find, identify and caught the responsibles of the two homicides. On the other hand, Chief Deputy Marshal Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones), responsible for Mark Sheridan's custody does whatever it takes to caught him and put him in jail. He gets federal assistance with the company of agent John Royce (Robert Downey Jr) who is involved in the confusing incident, trying to get to Mark before Marshal Gerard does and, if possible... kill Mark.
As said, the film is worth to watch due to Tommy Lee Jones performance. It can be highly considered for an action movie on a quiet weekend at home.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Great cast involved. The cast saved the day, since the plot didn't offer much to the audience
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. I didn't feel that chemistry needed among the lead roles. That might be the reason that Tommy Lee Jones darkened the rest of the cast involved in this film
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: When his wealthy grandfather dies, trust fund baby Jason Stevens anticipates a big inheritance. Instead, his grandfather has devised a crash course on life: twelve gifts designed to challenge Jason in improbable ways, sending him on a journey of self-discovery and forcing him to determine what is most important in life: money or happiness. Jason thought his inheritance was the gift of money and lots of it--but Jason thought wrong. He had a very simple relationship with his impossibly wealthy Grandfather, Howard Stevens. He hated him. No heart-to-heart talks, no warm fuzzies, just cold hard cash. So of course he figured that when Red died, the whole reading of the will thing would be another simple cash transaction. He figured that his Grandfather's money would allow him to continue living in the lifestyle to which he had become accustomed. But what Red left him was anything but simple. Red instead devised a plan for Jason to experience a crash course on life. Twelve tasks, which Red calls gifts, each challenging Jason in improbable ways, the accumulation of which would change him forever.

Great movie. I really enjoyed the plot and the cast involved in this film. A simple, basic and fresh plot with a moral message about those important gifts in life, those things you can't buy with money. Some really good drama moments, some good laughs and some few scenes that w could consider out of place. No matter what, a film that I recommend 100% for any day, any time.

2. The whole moral values tought through so simple examples in this plot

1. The whole kidnapping situation in Ecuador, so unreal and out of place in this movie!

I'm not that into kids movies, but I must say that I have my favorite ones. We finally had the chance to watch this movie and I have to admit that Up has officially become one of those top favorite kids movies. Pixar always brings the best of the best. They did it big time with The Incredibles, then with Cars, and now with this amazing and really funny movie... Up. What I like the most about this movie, is that the destination was inspired in the "Salto Angel" water falls and the ancient "Tepuis", in Venezuela.

Well, I didn't plan to go and watch this movie this last weekend. I initially planned to go and watch Infamous Basterds. My wife got to choose the movie we went to watch, so you know which movie she would choose! Even though we finally watched a girly movie, it was a funny and really entertaining movie. I really liked the plot, especially Gerard Butler's role, the macho man who doesn't care about what people think about him. I think Katherine Heigl is ok as an actress, nothing special or different from other actresses, but at least I can say that she looked good and did a good job in this movie. It was a good plot, with som really funny situations and scenes, as well as some good romantic moments. A good recommendation for couples who want to enjoy a romantic/comedy movie.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The situation with the panties and the sexual toy, a really funny scene
2. The first shows with the new anchor (Gerard Butler) and his controversial conversations and women's fight
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The scene when they're having a discussion while they're in the globe, it was so obvious that was a fake scenario that really made it look bad
I would rate this movie with a 3/5
