Synopsis: Hazzard County boasts some of the most axel-busting back roads, hair-raising moonshine, and best-looking farm girls in all of Georgia--and the Duke boys enjoy all three--frequently. The Duke's family business is moonshine, and the boys' Uncle Jesse concocts the tastiest brew in Dixie. More often than not, the boys find themselves on the wrong side of the law as they race to make their deliveries, leading the sheriff's department on some truly wild goose chases in their infamous orange Dodge Charge, the General Lee. After a long day on the job, there's nothing like relaxing with an ice cold beer at Hazzard County's finest drinking establishment, The Boar's Nest, where Daisy waits tables. From time to time, an out-of-towner makes the mistake of getting a little too familiar with the most beautiful girl in Hazzard Country. They quickly find out, the hard way, that Daisy isn't just a pretty face--she kicks ass like a Duke; and with Bo and Luke in the mix, that usually means a good old-fashioned knock-down, drag-out bar brawl. But it's not all moonshine and farm girls these days---when Bo and Luke discover evidence that their neighbors' properties are being unlawfully seized by crooked commissioner Boss Hogg, their only chance to protect their hometown is to put the 'pedal to the medal' in a last-ditch scheme to save Hazzard County.

Should I start saying that this movie was an offense to the original TV Series? What attempted to be a fun adaptation of the famous TV Series from the late 70's, ended up with just a few laughs and lots of lost expectations. I was one of them! I remember the time when I saw the trailer for the first time and couldn't wait to watch it in a theater. Being a huge fan of the TV Series (I used to watch it with my dad!), I was expecting to watch a really entertaining action comedy plot. Having a "unique" cast (Jhonny Knoxville and Seann William Scott) we could see that it would be loaded with crazy dumb humor. And that's what we got! I could say that they must have had such an amazing time filming this movie! They saved the day for the movie. Jessica Simpson literally sucked - sorry for being so bold on this one ;) - Catherine Bach (the original Daisy Duke in the TV Series) was amazing and fun playing her role! and let me tell you something... she was 10 times hotter and cuter than Jessica Simpson! The plot was a little bit disappointing, since they could have had so much strong material from the original series to offer a really strong script and film. Anyway, just because I really like Jhonny Knoxville and Seann William Scott, I must say that I enjoyed the film, just watching these two guys having fun in this film.
What did I like from this movie?
1. General Lee! That car rocks!
2. Kevin Heffernan's role (Sheev) being around the whole movie just wearing his underwear
3. The driving scenes in the city, when they're running away from the police, good ones
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. Jessica Simpson, she sucked
2. The plot was too weak
I would rate this movie with a 2/5

As they search for what locals call the 'Ship of Death' --a long-lost Civil War battleship that protects a secret cargo-- Dirk and his wisecracking sidekick, Al Giordino, meet Dr. Eva Rojas, a beautiful and brilliant doctor who believes that the hidden treasure may be connected to a larger problem that threatens the world around them. Hunting for a ship that no one else thinks exists, Dirk, Al, and Eva must rely on their wits and their daring heroics to outsmart dangerous warlords, survive the threatening terrain, and get to the bottom of both mysteries.
Starring: Matthew McConaughey, Steve Zahn, Penelope Cruz, Lambert Wilson, Glynn Turman

U.S. Rating: PG-13
We could say that Sahara is kind of a bad mix of great plots like Indiana Jones & National Treasure, with some sort of funny and enjoyable moments. Matthew McConaughey and Steve Zahn play the roles of explorers or... treasure hunters in Africa. Trying to find an old ship that was part of a history legend, they get involved in such an epic adventure trying to solve a mysterious threat that have been poisoning and killing the locals. They meet Penelope Cruz, who plays the role of a doctor from the World Health Organization and all three together try to find the connection between the civil-war ship and the mysterious threat, facing so many different situations and adventures until the moment they find the source of the threat and destroy it, as well as they find the old ship and get the gold hidden for decades in it. A pretty silly and dumb plot with a good cast, offering some really good laughs and entertaining scenes.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The moment when Matthew and Steve are in the middle of the desert and find the old plane, looking for a toolkit
2. When they're inside the chemical factory and Steve tells Matthew that he'll look for the bomb and Matthew should save the girl, kind of a dumb cliche, but was really funny
3. Some few good action and comedy scenes
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. A pretty lousy plot. We don't know if compare it with these great films like Indiana Jones or National Treasure. It would be the worst, since these films would make Sahara look like the worst movie ever
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

My personal appreciation, this is one of the best thriller films that I've seen with Bruce Willis. No matter all the mixed reviews you could read or hear about this movie, I personally believe it's a brilliant thriller. I totally enjoyed it when I went to watch it at the movie theaters, and have enjoyed it every single time I've watched it at home. Bruce Willis plays Jeff Tilley, an ex-LAPD hostage negotiator who's been working as a small town sheriff after facing the trauma of losing the hostages in a negotiation process back in LA. Tilley faces a new hostages situation in his small town, when three teenagers decide to break into the house of a rich accountant who works for some powerful illegal organizations. Tilley passes the hostages situation to the FBI, but on his way home, he's approached by a commando group of these illegal organizations and forces him to go back and take control of the negotiation and not let the FBI take control of the situation or they'll kill his family, who has already been kept in a van. Tilley will need to go back, re-gain the negotiation process and recover an important DVD that contains all their financial and sensitive information without being discovered. A great, violent and dark thriller that will keep you attached to your seat until the very last minute of this film. 100% Recommended!
What did I like from this movie?
1. The best scene in this movie was the moment when Tilley leaves after he transfers the hostage situation to the FBI, he stops to buy something and when he gets back to his car, he notices that he's trapped and already approached by these mysterious guys who force him to go back, take control of the situation again and complete their demands or they'd kill his family. Really good scene and drama
2. The fire effects at the last action scene, when Tilley kills the weird teenage and the bad guys trying to kill them and recover the DVD
3. The last scene when he gets in an ambulance to this old house and tries to negotiate/trade his family with the accountant, but ends up killing the leader of this commando team and kidnappers
4. I rally enjoyed the little kid. He played such a great role, even better than many other adults in this movie
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. Most of the teenagers in this movie didn't show their talent as actors/actresses. The great performance was focused on Willis and the kid. Even though, the weird pyromaniac teenage was ok
I would rate this movie with a 5/5

With such a great cast, this movie could have reached the potential and success it deserved. Into the Blue offers such an amazing aerial and underwater photography and a great cast. The plot wasn't as good as it could be... two couples searching for a treasure undersea, they find a plane containing drug which they try to use to help their financial needs to complete their search. All the events are located mostly in the water, which provides the best images and photography in this movie. Paul Walker plays the key role, with the support of Jessica Alba, Scott Caan and Josh Brolin. Anyway, if you're planning to stay home and have a relaxing weekend with friends or your love one, and want to watch an action movie that will offer you a great cast, amazing photography and a pretty basic plot, then I recommend you to watch this movie.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The different scenes when they're diving underwater, such an amazing view and photography, especially in a big screen
2. Some of the action scenes were actually entertaining
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. Didn't like Ashley Scott's performance in this movie. I'm glad she didn't make it until the end of the movie
2. Can't believe they made a sequel of this movie! (which I haven't watched yet, but I must watch it within the next few days and see if it falls into the rule of the NO-NO for a sequel)
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: Alex 'Hitch' Hitchens is a legendary--and deliberately anonymous--New York City 'date doctor' who, for a fee, has helped countless men woo the women of their dreams. While coaching Albert, a meek accountant who is smitten with a glamorous celebrity, Allegra Cole, Hitch finally meets his match in the person of the gorgeous, whip-smart Sara Melas, a gossip columnist who follows Allegra's every move. The ultimate professional bachelor, Hitch suddenly finds himself falling deliriously in love with Sarah, a reporter whose biggest scoop could very well be the unmasking of Manhattan's most famous date doctor.
Starring: Will Smith, Eva Mendes, Kevin James, Amber Valletta, Julie Ann Emery
Directed by: Andrew Tennant, Andy Tennant
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Such a really entertaining romantic comedy! As a huge Will Smith fan, I enjoy all his action, drama and comedy movies. Hitch is such an enjoyable romantic comedy with a great and sharply written script offering you the opportunity to frequently laugh-out-loud. Kevin James was so funny in this movie playing the role of the weird, insecure but great guy that wants to achieve the dream and love of his life (Allegra) but due to his insecure actions toward women he decides to contract Hitch's professional services. A great plot and story with so many bizarre and extremely funny situation that will entertain you from the first minute to the end of the movie, with a great romantic message at the end.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Extremely funny the scene when he goes with Sara (Eva Mendes) to the cooking competition and he's poisoned. I laughed so loud when he gets to the pharmacy and thinks it is nothing until he sees his face in the mirror. Even better... the scene after, when they're walking and he's drinking the medicine from the bottle with a straw, like a soda!
2. The time when hitch takes Sara for the first time to this museum to show her the details of her ancestor and she starts screaming and crying after she's being amazed for such a great discover. He feels like he scored with this smart move, but then everything went wrong. As he said, that situation went in a different way in his mind!
3. The dancing lessons and the moment when Albert (Kevin James) is dancing with Allegra in the club... hilarious!
4. The scenes about the kiss at the front door. The first one, when Hitch is teaching him the moves for the first kiss, and then the moment when it actually happens after the night out
5. Interesting that the movie starts being more like a comedy with some romantic scenes and ends as a 100% romantic movie with some comedy scenes
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The end of the movie, with the dancing scene at the wedding. It was like too much, entertaining though. Many people would love it anyway
I would rate this movie with a 4/5

Synopsis: Meet Ralph Kramden--a man of vision, taste, and refinement. Now, if he can just get the rest of the world to see it. By day, Ralph's an ordinary New York City bus driver. But in his off-hours, he's an innovator, an inventor, an entrepreneur who's just one great idea away from instant wealth. (Unfortunately for Ralph, none of those ideas has yet panned out.) His best friend (and neighbor) is Ed Norton, who's always up for the latest plan. Wherever Ralph goes, no matter how harebrained the idea, Ed's ready to run down the fire escape and lend a hand. These two dreamers believe they're taking their families to the next level, but Ralph's wife, Alice, has set her sights on a more practical goal: buying a duplex fixer-upper with Ed and his wife, Trixie. When Ralph loses their down payment on yet another of his half-baked projects, Alice is at the end of her rope, giving Ralph just one day to come up with the cash and save their marriage.
Starring: Cedric The Entertainer, Mike Epps, Regina Hall, Gabrielle Union, Jon Polito
Directed by: John Schultz
U.S. Rating: PG-13
I enjoy the humor of Cedric The Entertainer and Mike Epps. It was exciting to see them being co-stars in this movie, even though, the plot wasn't as good as expected. They made it anyway, they played their roles the best they know how to do it, and it worked in some way. There are some funny scenes and situations on this movie that will let you enjoy it and have a good time. Cedric The Entertainer plays the role of the funky bus driver with these entrepreneur ideas that never work and his best friend (Mike Epps) that is always there for him no matter how crazy or nonsense might sound the business idea. Having some other good supporting roles, this plot helps you to relax and have a good time. Even though, believe... it's not as good as expected, one of those movies hat will make you laugh tonight, but you won't remember anything about the movie the morning after. If you want to ave some laughs, it's worth to watch.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The moment when they're walking with the metal detector on the park and Cedric The Entertainer steps on a $20 bill without noticing while he's trying to find metal or something valuable to get some money out of it
2. The whole situation with the dog, being such a lazy whenever he is at the race field
3. The dog trainer, this guy played a funny role, the crazy neurotic guy that does a little bit of "everything"
4. The way they sell the wagon for only $20000 when it was worth millions
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. It could have been a bit funnier and offer more material that would help us to remember the movie few days later
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: Percy Jones takes great pride in the knowledge that he is always right, especially when it comes to the welfare of his family. When his daughter Theresa brings her new boyfriend, Simon Green, home to meet Percy and his wife Marilyn, he is unaware that Simon has already proposed to Theresa and plans to announce the engagement at Percy and Marilyn's 25th anniversary party. As far as Percy's concerned, no man will ever be good enough for his baby girl and the long line of struggling-artist types Theresa has dated so far has only served to bolster his conviction. So that there are no unpleasant surprises this time around, Percy, a bank loan officer, runs a credit check on Simon. The young man, a successful stockbroker, certainly looks good on paper, and for the first time, Percy is actually looking forward to meeting one of his daughter's boyfriends. However, the young man he has envisioned--a dazzling combination of Denzel Washington, Colin Powell and Tiger Woods--is not who arrives at his doorstep. Percy is aghast and more than a little indignant when his daughter presents her decidedly Caucasian boyfriend. Once he is over his initial shock, Percy begins interrogating Simon about his family history, education, career, and favorite sports. Feeling pressured to impress his prospective father-in-law, Simon boasts of his (nonexistent) past as a NASCAR driver, which only serves to arouse Percy's suspicions. Regardless, Simon's repeated attempts to make a good impression are futile. Percy rebuffs him at every turn and makes it his mission to expose Simon as a fraud and undermine his daughter's new relationship.
Starring: Bernie Mac, Ashton Kutcher, Zoe Saldana, Judith Scott, Hal Williams
Directed by: Kevin Rodney Sullivan, Kevin Rodney
U.S. Rating: PG-13
I'd consider this movie the racial version of Meet the Parents. Both movies are really funny, and both of them are the same kind of plot. The baby girl loved and protected by her dad, who tries to keep every single man away from her, bringing a set of different and funny situations between the future son-in-law, daughter and rest of the family. In this movie, Bernie Mac (a black guy) doesn't trust his new daughter's boyfriend who is a white guy. From the beginning, we face some really funny scenes and situations that will keep you entertained. Bernie Mac plays such a really funny role in this movie, as the protective father who expects to have a handsome, tall, athlete, successful black son-in-law. When he faces reality, he starts trying to keep him away from his daughter and even lies about him to his co-workers, describing Kutcher as Jamal, the handsome, tall, athlete, successful black son-in-law. Ashton Kutcher, well, my wife loves him, but I believe he plays a foolish role in this movie, balanced by Zoe Saldana's part who plays a more serious down-to-earth role in this movie.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The scene when they arrive to Bernie's house and he shakes hands and welcome the taxi driver (the black guy) thinking that he's his son-in-law and asks Kutcher to bring the luggage into the house
2. When Bernie Mac gets to the basement on the first night at home and Kutcher gets in bed thinking that Bernie is leaving the room, but he turns the light off and gets in bed with him
3. The whole scene situation with Bernie's wife and her sisters, such a great black women reunion
4. The grandpa and the whole situation at the dinner table, with the jokes about black people, especially when he asks for Kutcher's grandmother's address after his comment about her joke
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. There were scenes or part of this plot that should have more information. For example, nobody knows what happens with Kutcher's job or future at the end of the movie, they just know his present unemployed situation. If they started the movie with his resignation, if it was part of the whole discussion on this plot, why didn't they include a conclusion about it?
2. The whole thing about the $50000, it looked like just a part of the plot that had no connection with anything else, came from nowhere and they tried to tie it with a short scene trying to get a loan from his new father-in-law
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Ok, let's be honest. I'm a loyal fan of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. I've watched most of their movies and I must say that this one was one of the crappiest plots they have been involved with. A plot with not substance. I remember the time when I went to the cinema, and after watching the first half of this movie, I wanted to leave the room, feeling bored. I'm glad that Brad Pitt denied that they (Brad and Angelina) could film a sequel of this film, or work any other possible movie together, since it brings to much crap to the media. Maybe is not the media, but a plot and movie like this one, no matter the good match and chemistry you feel between the stars. Anyway, in this plot, Brad and Angelina play a married couple, both of them work for secret organizations as a hitman/hit woman. None of them know their own secret lives and jobs, but when they've been assigned to kill the same objective (and fail), they become target of each others. At the end, they get together and fight back against the secret organizations they worked for.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The scenes when they're working their marriage, the marital therapy is kinda entertaining
2. The scene when Brad Pitt gets in the bar to kill his target, playing the drunk guy with money
3. Vince Vaughn is always a funny plus for any movie
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The plot didn't have substance, I personally got bored in the movie theater, even though, I can still watch it when I'm bored on a boring afternoon at home
I would rate this movie with a 2/5

Being Venezuelan, I must admit that I'm the worst supporter for our national movie productions. I've never gone to a movie theater to watch a Venezuelan movie. Said that, I don't mean that I won't watch these movies when they're out on DVD. This is the case with Secuestro Express. Maybe I don't like to watch Venezuelan movies, because most of them are focused on our own reality, our daily experiences (drugs, poverty, kidnapping, crime, corruption, violence, street gangs, etc). If we personally have faced and feared some of these things in our daily life experiences, or have seen them with our own eyes on the streets of Caracas, why the heck should I go and pay to see these things in a local theater?! Anyway, after watching this movie and read some reviews and comments made by some movie reviewers, it's sad to see that some of them think that this movie was just a cheap production trying to imitate Tarantino's work, going through a thriller trying to stimulate popcorn movie sentiments, but the reality is that this is what dozens of Venezuelans face monthly in any street of my country. It actually was such a great production for a first-time director, taking some scenes from real situations happened in April 2002, when the country was virtually unplugged from all its economical productivity, due to all its social and political mess. The reality is that the plot is based on a daily situation faced and feared by thousands of Venezuelans in one of the most dangerous cities in the world
What did I like from this movie?
1. That they were able to face and express the problem with this new mode of kidnapping known as "Secuestro Express" where the victims are not actually taken kidnapped to a distant and protected place, but just kept in a car driving around or kept in any house or place in the middle of the city until the ransom is paid.
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. That this is the only thing we're able to produce and export (talking about movies), having so much talent and plots to explore and explode in our country
I would rate this movie with a 1/5

Synopsis: Steve Barker is a nice guy stuck in a mundane desk job when a twist of fate turns his life--and his definition of success--upside down. When Steve works up the courage to ask his boss for a promotion, his wish is surprisingly granted, with one condition: Steve must first fire Stave, the long-time janitor at the company. To soften the blow, Steve offers to employ the distraught janitor himself, a decision that quickly backfires when a lawn care accident lands Stavi in the hospital missing several fingers not to mention medical insurance. Desperate for the cash to save Stavi's digits, Steve enlists the help of his smarmy uncle Gary, who's worried about his own skyrocketing gambling debts. In typical fashion, Gary comes up with an unthinkable, contemptible, lower-than-low scheme just crazy enough to seem doable: former track star Steve will compete in the upcoming Special Olympics as a "ringer," handily defeating the greatest champion of all time, six-time Gold Medal pentathlete Jimmy, whom Gary will bet against. Racked with remorse over Stavi, Steve begrudgingly goes along with the scandalous plan and transforms himself into "Jeffy," his new alter-ego. But succeeding at being intellectually challenged turns out to be a far greater challenge than Steve ever imagined. From convincing Special Olympics volunteer Lynn Sheridan, with whom Steve is smitten; to trying to win the friendship of his feisty fellow competitors, Steve is stumped, not to mention not nearly good enough to win any of his events. To make matters worse, Steve's co-competitors soon get wise to his scam. But instead of turning against him they decide to join him and train Steve as a competitor themselves, hoping he can topple the arrogant Jimmy from the podium. With a training regimen unlike anything ever seen in sports before, Steve prepares to go for the Gold for his new friends--and, in the process, stumbles at long last upon his personal best.
Starring: Johnny Knoxville, Brian Cox, Katherine Heigl, Jed Rees, Bill Chott
Directed by: Barry Blaustein
U.S. Rating: PG-13
The movie producers couldn't choose a better character for this role. Jhonny Knoxville was the man for this movie. He's well known for their childish, retard, annoying (but really funny) show "Jackass". According with many critics, Knoxville impressed many people with this role, since he hasn't been considered a professional actor. The thing is that it could be considered a risky role, being related with mentally retarded roles. It turned really well at the end! I could consider this movie a really funny and entertaining one, good plot, great cast, lots of funny scenes and situations and especially, a good end with a good message about honesty, respect, friendship and loyalty.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Brian Cox playing as the horrible uncle pushing his useless nephew to get in the Special Olympics! Just to get the money to pay back his debts for gambling
2. The first scenes when Knoxville gets in the camp and has to face the other retarded guys. They seemed to be smarter than him, since they detected that there was something wrong with him as soon as they met him
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. Knoxville didn't need to go through some unnecessary scenes where he either hurts himself, but hey... he's a "Jackass" guy so, what could you ask for?
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: High-school teacher Ben Wrightman is a good catch. He's charming, funny and great with kids. When he meets Lindsey Meeks, an ambitious business consultant whose spirit is as luminous as her beauty, their attraction is immediate. Sure, they have their differences. She's a workaholic; he loves his summers off. He lives and breathes the Red Sox; she doesn't know Carl Yastrzemski from Johnny Damon. But true love overcomes all--at least until Red Sox spring training rolls around. As Ben's beloved Bosox launch one of the most incredible seasons in baseball history, Ben and Lindsey must decide if they, as a couple, will strike out or fight to keep love alive through extra innings.
Starring: Drew Barrymore, Jimmy Fallon, Jason Spevack, Jack Kehler, Scott H. Severance
Directed by: Bobby Farrelly, Peter Farrelly
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Coming from the Farrelly Brothers, I was expecting their typical humor in this movie, but it turned out such a light humor and I could really say that it is such a likable romantic comedy! The cast chosen for this movie was simply excellent. Drew Barrymore played a great role as the hard worker, single and successful professional woman, and Jimmy Fallon plays the perfect guy, a funny and honest, decent single school teacher with (apparently) nothing to hide, nut in the end, he is one of the craziest and most loyal baseball fans ever! A romantic comedy that matches both lives with nothing in common, and how they are able to adapt their lives, daily routines and even their most precious things in life (for Drew... her work and professional success, for Jimmy... his Baseball devotion) in name of love. A really funny movie, with lots of funny and romantic scenes and situations, and a great movie to watch it with your loved one.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Great cast. Drew and Jimmy were able to match perfectly in this romantic comedy
2. Jimmy Fallon was able to bring his spontaneous humor in every single scene, but what I really enjoyed were those scenes when he received the tickets for the new season and then he assigned the tickets among his friends
3. The scene when Drew is hit by a fault ball while she was working on her laptop and then she was all over the news
4. The moment when they have their first date, she was sick and Jimmy had to clean her vomit and take care of her that night
5. Definitely, the whole situation when she goes to visit her parents (her dad is facing the middle-aged crisis and dyed his hair, his dog doesn't recognize him) and they see Jimmy on TV as the wild, crazy Red Sox's fan (she didn't know how crazy he was about baseball until that moment
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. Well, I couldn't say that it was something I dislike, but since this kind of plot is so rare coming from the Farelly Brothers, I could say that I missed some of their gross-out humor (this movie didn't need it though, at all!)
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

But things haven't been going so well for her lately. Capitalizing on the greatest PR coup in agency history, the FBI presses their new poster girl into a while of photos ops where she re-enacts her pageant exploits to an adoring public, with the help of her personal stylist Joel to smooth her rougher edges.
Starring: Sandra Bullock, Regina King, Enrique Murciano, William Shatner, Ernie Hudson
Directed by: John Pasquin
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Being such a fan of Sandra Bullock, I believe this sequel was not one of the best in her record. But, it wasn't her fault at all! The plot was a basic script that relies heavily on repeating gags from its predecessor, which I consider was way much better than this sequel. It brings some good laughs, but the plot was not able to offer good material for almost 2 hours. I started enjoying it at the beginning of the movie, some moments in the middle of the story, but definitely felt like the end didn't offer much, or it was just me getting really bored after (almost) 2 hours watching this movie.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The moment when Sandra is talking with the other agent at the airport and she says "You might consider a tic-tac"
2. Some scenes when she's tracing the people involved with the kidnapping
What did I dislike from this movie?

Synopsis: The extraordinary battle for the future of humankind through the eyes of one American family fighting to survive it. Ray Ferrier is a divorced dockworker and less-than-perfect father. Soon after his ex-wife and her new husband drop of his teenage son Robbie and young daughter Rachel for a rare weekend visit, a strange and powerful lightning storm touches down.
Starring: Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning, Miranda Otto, Justin Chatwin, Tim Robbins
Directed by: Steven Spielberg
U.S. Rating: PG-13
One of my favorite movies. Steven Spielberg brings such a great master piece to the big screen. A plot loaded with amazing effects and great sound. All the cast involved offered such a great content, even though, this movie has received lots of critic. Considered to be in the list of the top blockbuster movies, many people have written lots of critics about some errors and incongruency on some scenes, like the first ones during the first attack, when all electronic equipments stopped working, but some people were taking pictures and video taping the attack, or at the end of the movie when Tom Cruise reunites with his family in a city in Boston where nothing was destroyed and his family looked like they were just worried waiting for them (after such a desolation and deadly traumatic and horrible situation). Anyway, I liked the movie, no matter these discrepancies, I totally recommend it.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The effects on this movie, simply amazing!
2. The situation when Tom Cruise and his daughter are in this basement with Tim Robbins and they're visited by the machine arms and some aliens
3. It was good the beginning, when they're about to be attacked after the lightnings and how Tom Cruise is such a coward, being scared of it
4. Really liked the camera effects when they're running away driving in the van
What did I dislike from this movie?
A little bit too long, that's at least how I felt, that it would get really boring if the movie would take 5 more minutes longer.
I would rate this movie with a 4/5

Synopsis: Streetwise mobster-turned-movie producer Chili Palmer is back, but this time Chili has abandoned the fickle movie industry and veered into the music business, tangling with Russian mobsters and gangsta rappers and taking a talented, feisty young singer named Linda Moon under his wing. From the recording studio to an Aerosmith concert to the MTV Music Awards, he manipulates events to watch them play out the Chili way, using his signature blend of wiseguy skills and negotiation tactics. It's a dangerous business, and everyone's looking for their next big hit.
Starring: John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Vince Vaughn, Cedric The Entertainer, Andre 'Andre 3000' Benjamin, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson
Directed by: F. Gary Gray
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Such a really entertaining cast and plot. This sequel from the movie Get Shorty, brings a new whole different view of show business, when Chili Palmer, after being a loanshark in Miami and being involved in the movie business in Los Angeles, moves on and jumps into the music business because he wants to escape from the bureaucracy faced in the movie business. This time, Chili is the manager on Linda Moon, a girl with a super voice and talent, the girl that will bring millions to everyone involved, and everyone wants a piece of it! Russians, rap gangstas, music producers, hit men, even Aerosmith will get involved in such a hilarious plot where everything and anything could happen. I totally recommend it for a good laugh.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, one of the funniest characters in this plot. A strong bodyguard who wants to be an actor and as far as we know... is gay! The Rock plays such a hilarious role in this movie. I totally laughed when he's trying his red boots on
2. Vince Vaughn, the white boy that thinks that is black! really funny
3. Cedric the Entertainer, the Rap Mogul, a high educated man, and his Rap Gangstas
4. The Russian mafia and the hit men, really funny moments with these guys
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. They could have leave a lead for a sequel in the future

Synopsis: Frank Martin is the best in the business. The ex-Special Forces operative hires himself out as a mercenary "transporter" who moves goods--human or otherwise. Very simple, he delivers, no questions asked. Frank has relocated from the French Mediterranean to Miami, Florida, where as a favor to a friend, Frank is driving for the wealthy Billings family. There's very little that can surprise The Transporter, but young Jack Billings has done just that; Frank has unexpectedly bonded with Jack, age 6, who he drives to and from school. But when Jack is kidnapped, Frank must use his battle-tested combat skills to retrieve the boy and thwart the kidnappers' master plan to release a virus that will kill anyone with whom it comes in contact.
Starring: Jason Statham, Amber Valletta, Kate Nauta, Matthew Modine, Jason Flemyng
Directed by: Louis Leterrier
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Frank Martin, the transporter with three simple rules: His clients must give him exact dimensions and weight of the transport, never provide any names, and he will promise never to look inside the package. In this sequel, Frank is back in action, this time in Miami, Florida, providing his professional driving services for the wealthy Billings family. His main job is to drive their son Jack, age 6, who is kidnapped. The battle to recover "the package" (the kid) provides the perfect action scenes for fast cars, martial arts and some, persecutions and explosions.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Definitely the cars is one of the best distinctive details in all the Transporter. movies This time, the Audi A8 and a Lamborghini are the cars driven by Frank.
2. The martial arts and fight scenes are really entertaining, another distinctive detail in all the Transporter movies.
3. The bad girl with the two semiautomatic guns, really entertaining.
4. I believe this sequel offered a better plot, since the first part got really boring after the second half of the movie. This one, even though is a pretty standard action movie, offered a more balanced and mixed plot (action/thriller/few drama).
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. I really dislike the exaggerated scenes like the moment when he drives the Audi through the Bahia and jumps and turns the car in the air and releases the bomb placed behind the car with a crane.
2. The moment when he jumps with the Audi from one building to another one and stops right next to the border.
3. The moment when he's folling one of the bad guys and jumps with a jet sky from the water to the road and drives with it for a long distance.
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: (taken from imdb.com) The sportswoman Sarah loses her husband and daughter in a car crash, but she survives. One year later, her friends Beth, Rebecca, Sam and Holly invite her to explore a deep cave in the mountains. When the expedition is about three kilometers underground, a rock collapses and blocks the access tunnel, trapping the group inside the cave. With limited supplies, they try to find a way out, but soon they face a hungry and savage breed of predators.

What I liked from this movie: The movie had an interesting plot line and a lot of surprises. I do not often watch movies where you could not guess what was going to happen. I was surprised by many parts of the movie and even screamed at the ending from being surprised. Unpredictability is a major plus in my book.
What I did not like from this movie: Almost the entire movie took place in a cave and since there was a lot of bloodshed, the movie was basically red and dark. Some parts were a bit too scary for me to actually watch and I had to turn my head; though keep in mind that I'm not a big horror fan. Some of the special effects were weak, at beat. Not all of the acting was incredibly strong either.

Mark and I both rate this movie a 3 out of 5. It was a good movie for a first timer but not one to buy. I liked it enough to want to watch the sequel coming out in September 2009, though. If you can get past a few bad special effects and a few lines that aren't too believable then this is not a bad movie to watch.
