Synopsis: In the near-future, where the sport of boxing has gone hi-tech, Charlie Kenton is a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Starring: Hugh Jackman, Dakota Goyo, Kevin Durand, Anthony Mackie, Evangeline Lilly
Directed by: Shawn Levy
U.S. Rating: PG-13
One of the great films released in 2011 was Real Steel. Probably it wasn't one of the most remarkable ones, but it was actually pretty good and entertaining. The interesting thing about this film is that it brings such a unique plot, but the main story is not about the whole boxing robots, far from it, but the special relationship between a dad and his little son.
It is not a surprise that Hugh Jackman delivered such a great performance, but this film was definitely all about Dakota Goyo, the little boy playing Hugh's on in this film. The charisma shown by this little guy made the whole film deserved to watch.
Real Steel is focused in year 2020. Humans have been replaced by robots in boxing. Charlie Kenton is a former boxer who owns such a robot, Ambush, competing in unsanctioned matches and in exhibitions with it. At a rural fair, Ambush is destroyed by Black Thunder, a bull belonging to promoter Ricky. Having made a bet that Ambush would win, Charlie now owes Ricky $20,000, which he doesn't pay before leaving.
Charlie is informed his ex-girlfriend has died, and that he must attend a hearing to decide the fate of his preteen son Max. Max's wealthy aunt Debra and uncle Marvin want full custody, which Charlie gives them in exchange for $100,000, half in advance, on the condition that Charlie take care of Max for three months while the couple are away on a second honeymoon.
Charlie and Max meet with Charlie's childhood friend Bailey Tallet, who runs the boxing gym of her deceased father, Charlie's old coach. There, Charlie buys a secondhand World Robot Boxing league (WRB) robot, the once-famous Noisy Boy, and arranges for it to fight the illegal circuit's champion, Midas, at a venue belonging to his friend Finn. Partly due to both his inexperience with Noisy Boy's combinations and his overconfidence, Charlie ends up losing control of Noisy Boy and Midas destroys it.
Charlie breaks into a junkyard with Max to steal scraps that he can use to put a new robot together. There, Max falls over a ledge, where he is saved from doom by getting snagged on the arm of a buried robot. After Charlie pulls Max back up, Max digs out the entire robot, called Atom. On Max's insistence, Charlie takes it back to Bailey's gym, where they discover Atom is an obsolete Generation-2 sparring bot built in 2014. Atom has been designed to sustain massive damage, but is unable to deal much damage itself. Partly due to both Max's insistence and Charlie needing money, the duo takes Atom to fight an unsanctioned outdoor match against a robot called Metro, and Atom wins, earning back some of Charlie's money.
Max later upgrades it to take vocal commands using spare parts from Noisy Boy and Ambush and successfully convinces Charlie to train the robot. Atom's string of subsequent wins and high-speed maneuvers, which were rarely seen from a robot, attracts the attention of a promoter from WRB, who offers Atom a professional fight against a robot called Twin Cities. Charlie accepts, and Atom wins again, thanks to Charlie's boxing experience allowing him to locate and take advantage of a small tell in Twin Cities' punch. Revelling in their subsequent novelty attention, Max challenges WRB champion Zeus, designed by genius Tak Mashido (Karl Yune) and sponsored by wealthy Farra Lemcova (Olga Fonda), who before the match tried to buy the upstart Atom.
As Max and Charlie leave after the Twin Cities fight, Ricky and his men attack them, and steal their winnings. Feeling guilty, Charlie returns Max to his aunt and uncle, feeling Max will be safer with them, but Bailey convinces him that he can be a better father. Debra allows Charlie to take Max out for one last night, to the Zeus-Atom match. Zeus severely damages Atom while also getting injured, a first for Zeus. Ricky, who had bet Finn $100,000 that Atom would not last the first round, tries to slip away, but is cornered by Finn and his colleagues. In the fourth round of the five-round match, Atom's vocal receptors are damaged, and Atom must fight the last round in shadow-boxing mode, copying Charlie's moves from the aisle. Zeus, now controlled manually by a furious Mashido, expends energy on trashing the defensive Atom, running low on power and turning sluggish as a result. Atom then begins to pummel Zeus, even knocking the seemingly invincible champion down once, but not winning before the round ends. The judges declare Zeus the winner on points, but that robot's reputation is tarnished, and Atom has become famous as the "People's Champion".

Synopsis: For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world -- Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. But in 2011, what were once just sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world's great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It's up to a Marine staff sergeant and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they've ever encountered before.

Starring: Aaron Eckhart, Bridget Moynahan, Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena, Adetokumboh M Cormack
Directed by: Jonathan Liebesman
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Battle: Los Angeles, definitely one of the most expected films in 2011. The whole production and advertising was perfect. The drama and action shown on these trailers were more than intense that I definitely wanted to watch the film really bad.
But, one thing is what you expect from a film like this, and what you really get. I've said before that there's not much room for creativity in these kind of Sci-Fi films where the human kind is being attacked and invaded by aliens. Just very few films have really impressed me, for example, the most recent one... District 9.
I remember few months ago when I had the chance to watch Skyline. A film with great CGI effects but so cheap on its content. I was extremely disappointed when I saw the film, since it didn't bring anything good other than great CGI effects. I wouldn't say it was what I got from Battle: Los Angeles. I must say it had a much better plot, DEFINITELY a much, much better cast, but there was no room for something different. It was just more of what we've got so far with these kind of films.
And when I say that it didn't bring something original or creative I mean, for example, that an extremely strong force from another planet that has been destroying the main cities around the world comes to fight with "conventional" weapons. I don't see special weapons, I see machine guns and conventional granades! There's a moment when they notice these aliens are capable to intercept their radio communications, but they destroy the mother ship planning an air strike with a radio conversation... So, there was some things that showed some lack of creativity on the script.
I must give some credits on the effects and especially, the cast. Some overrated drama and lots, lots, lots of explosions.
If you're into these kind of Sci-Fi alien invation films, it is a film that you can enjoy... Definitely 100 times better than Skyline or Monsters.
In case you want to know more details about the film, here's the complete plot: On August 11, 2011, mysterious objects thought to be meteorites crash into Earth's oceans near several major cities including Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, New Orleans,Mexico City,New York, Hong Kong, London, Paris, Barcelona, Hamburg, Sydney. These objects are revealed to be spacecraft containing hostile alien forces. The U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton arrive in Los Angeles to defend against alien ground forces and assist in the evacuation of civilians in preparation for a bombing campaign. Among the military's forces are Michael Nantz (Aaron Eckhart), a 20-year veteran U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant who lost many men under his command during his last deployment in Iraq. Nantz had planned to retire, but the situation requires him to replace the platoon sergeant of a platoon from "E" Company, 2nd Battalion 5th Marines.
The Platoon Commander, 2nd Lieutenant William Martinez (Ramón RodrÃguez), attends a briefing at an FOB (Forward Operating Base). The platoon's mission is to rescue civilians from an LAPD police station with a three-hour time limit before the Air Force bombs the area. They are ambushed by aliens multiple times and suffer casualties. They also encounter a group of U.S. Army soldiers from the 40th Infantry Division, including an Air Force intelligence Technical Sergeant Elena Santos (Michelle Rodriguez). Eventually, the combined team reaches the police station, finding five civilians inside. A helicopter arrives and attempts to evacuate some of the wounded Marines, but it is destroyed by an alien air unit upon takeoff.
The Marines commandeer a bus for evacuation. Prior to evacuation, they find a wounded alien and with the help of one of the civilians, they learn of the aliens' weaknesses and military tactics; finding that the alien infantry have a weak point in the torso, that the alien attack aircraft are remote-controlled drones and the aliens monitor and locate Earth military forces through monitoring their radio communications. The Marines speculate that there must be a central command center, and that its destruction would eliminate control of the alien drones, opening the enemy forces to air attack. On a freeway, they encounter a lone M1 Abram that is under attack and subsequently destroyed by the aliens. The bus is then attacked and the Marines begin rappelling the civilians off the side of the freeway. One of the civilians, Joe Rincon (Michael Peña), is wounded after firing on the aliens. Martinez is also wounded and sacrifices himself to destroy an enemy unit by detonating C-4 explosives inside the bus, shortly after placing Nantz in command of the platoon.
Nantz leads what remains of the platoon outside the bombing zone, and they rest at a convenience store. A news report speculates that the aliens have attacked Earth for its water supply which they use as fuel. The team waits for the bombing to begin, but nothing happens. They arrive at the FOB, only to discover that it has already been destroyed by the aliens, nullifying the airstrike. They decide to head for another extraction point, where a helicopter should be available to evacuate them. Before they embark, Rincon dies of his wounds and Corporal Lockett (whose brother died under Nantz's command) openly doubts Nantz's ability to lead. Nantz and Lockett come to terms with their guilt and anger, and the platoon reaches the extraction point using a LAV-25 and a HMMWV. As they are being evacuated, Nantz spots a large black area on the ground where electric power seems to be disabled. Nantz believes the black area to be the location of the alien command center and that it is hidden underground. Nantz and his platoon disembarks from the helicopter, planning to find the exact location of the command center so they can call in a missile strike.
Going underground, the Marines confirm the presence of a large alien vessel. They return to the surface and succeed in calling in a guided artillery strike using laser designators. However, the command center remains intact and rises from the ground. The Marines repel alien forces as more artillery shells are launched at the hovering command center, and eventually they destroy it. This disables the alien aircraft in the area, forcing the alien ground forces to retreat.
Soon after, the team is extracted to a temporary base in the Mojave Desert, where they are greeted as heroes for their outstanding bravery. All other cities under attack now plan to emulate their strategy, destroying the alien command center in each city. More forces are being sent to Los Angeles to finish off the aliens there. Despite orders to rest, Nantz and the platoon instead rejoin the fight. (Source: Wikipedia)

Synopsis: When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he's part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he's ever known, he learns he's part of a government experiment called the "Source Code," a program that enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.

Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga, Jeffrey Wright, Michael Arden
Directed by: Duncan Jones
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Source Code was one of the first expected Sci-Fi films of the year in my "must-see" list. To honor the film, I must say it was entertaining, the plot was different (well, sort of) and the cast was magnific.
What is the film about? Well, Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a decorated army helicopter pilot who finds himself in a mission to locate the author of a bomb which exploded and destroyed a train headed into Chicago. Stevens is isolated inside a chamber, where Air Force officer Capt. Colleen Goodwin (Vera Farmiga) explains to Stevens through a computer screen that he is inside the Source Code, a program that allows him to take over someone's body in his or her last eight minutes of life.
Stevens' mission is to locate the bomb, discover who built it, and report back to Goodwin before the bomber can detonate a second larger bomb, a dirty nuclear device, in downtown Chicago, which could cause the deaths of millions of people. Stevens can perform different actions each time and learn from those actions. Goodwin and the Source Code's creator, Dr. Rutledge (Jeffrey Wright), tell him that the Source Code is not a simulation, but a visit into the past in the form of an alternative reality. He's told that he cannot truly alter the past in the same reality to save Christina or any of the other passengers, but that he must gather intel that can be used to alter the future and prevent a future attack.
Every time he is sent into the train he awakens as Sean Fentress, a teacher, sitting across a woman named Christina Warren (Michelle Monaghan). A series of events repeat each time with slight variations while he goes on searching for the terrorist and deepening his relationship with Christina, until the bomb that destroys the train goes off and Stevens (as Fentress) dies, sending him back to the chamber.
Stevens has no memory of how he arrived to the mission; his last memory is of flying in a recent mission in Afghanistan while taking on enemy gunfire. Confused and frustrated, Stevens wonders how he got assigned to this project. Using a cellphone, he eventually discovers that he supposedly died in the war two months ago and that his severely injured body was apparently appropriated by the Air Force and used by Rutledge to enter the Source Code.
Stevens is sent back several more times. The second time he locates the bomb in the ventilation shaft above the bathroom. Each time he learns more, both about the terrorist attack and his real life personal situation, even though Rutledge and Goodwin constantly direct him to focus on finding the bomber. Stevens resolves to complete his mission, now with the added personal goal of saving Christina and the people on the train if at all possible.
He eventually discovers that the bomber is an American extremist named Derek Frost (Michael Arden). Stevens pursues Frost to a white van where the radioactive bomb is hidden. Stevens is eventually shot dead in the confrontation, but still able to gather enough information about Frost to inform Rutledge and Goodwin after he awakes from the source-code. Authorities are able to apprehend Frost and save Chicago before the second bomb is detonated.
With the mission accomplished, Rutledge orders Stevens' memory wiped/erased and stored for reuse in further missions. But Stevens persuades Goodwin to send him in one more time and give him one last chance to avert the train disaster. Goodwin agrees that he deserves to be allowed to die in peace afterwards instead of being held alive as a military artifact.
With the information he has uncovered from previous sorties, Stevens is able to defuse the bomb and capture Frost before he can destroy the train. Frost is arrested by the police and the people on the train are saved. Stevens and Christina kiss in the last seconds before the plug is to be pulled at the eight-minute mark. In that instant, Goodwin turns off his life support per his request, but to his surprise, his mind remains in Sean Fentress' body, being able to safely leave the train with Christina and the rest of the passengers. (Source: Wikipedia)
When I started watching the film, I found some similarities with other previous films, for example, Deja Vú (with Denzel Washington). An army project that is able to move in time to control and change important events and find the responsibles of those events. The plot was really simple but played by an amazing cast who made it worth to watch. I wouldn't say the film ends with a twisted scene or situation, but I didn't expect it.
I would rate this movie with a 3.5/5

Synopsis: Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after new life forms began to appear there and half of Mexico was quarantined. Today, the American and Mexican military struggle to contain these alien creatures. In particular, here, we focus on a US journalist who agrees to escort a shaken tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.

I'm not into these Sci-Fi kind of films, but after watching films like Cloverfield and District 9, I thought I'd give Monsters a try.
I must say that it was such an amazing project, being produced with just a short budget (less than $500.000) and shot in just 3 weeks. Director Gareth Edwards and his crew did such an amazing job with this film. I must express my admiration for their amazing work. It is interesting to read about the project and how it was completed (places, people involved, budget, time, etc). This is the positive side of this review.
The negative side is that I wasn't convinced or entertained the way I'd expect. Thinking on previous films like Cloverfield, War of the Worlds, District 9, etc., I was expecting a film packed with some great CGI effects and action scenes. I must say it had some petty good visual effects, but the big effort was based on the emotional side of the plot, a romantic drama in a desolated environment controlled by monsters.
I've read a long list of reviews and comments about this film, and it seems that I'm the only one who didn't get it or like it! Most of the reviews and comments express their best concept and opinions about the film. I didn't like it or at least, didn't get its concept or main idea. My personal impression is that the plot was extremely slow and boring.
I might have to watch the film once again from a different perspective and try to get what other people got from this film.
I would rate this movie with a 2/5

I'm not into these Sci-Fi kind of films, but after watching films like Cloverfield and District 9, I thought I'd give Monsters a try.
I must say that it was such an amazing project, being produced with just a short budget (less than $500.000) and shot in just 3 weeks. Director Gareth Edwards and his crew did such an amazing job with this film. I must express my admiration for their amazing work. It is interesting to read about the project and how it was completed (places, people involved, budget, time, etc). This is the positive side of this review.

28 years ago, Tron was the Matrix of the late 90s, or the Avatar of this decade. A film that pushed technology to the limits on the big screen, a film to remember. Yep, I'm one of those few movie lovers that had the chance to watch the first Tron... I was just a 10-year old boy. It was the bomb! The most amazing tech film of that era. I said this, because I know lots of "so called" movie lovers that never, ever heard of Tron before. That was one of those films that you HAD to watch, no matter what.
I remember spending hours and hours playing Tron in Intellivision with my neighbor. It was simply... Amazing! When I had the chance to watch the first trailer several months ago, it innevitably brought to my mind all those great times and fun memories. So, obviously, it became one of those "must-see" films of the year.
Tron Legacy brings the story of Sam, Kevin Flynn's son, a rebellious 27-year old man that couldn't coup with his father misterious disappearance 20 years ago. Kevin Flynn, Sam's father, was an innovate software programer and former CEO of ENCOM International, a powerful software and video games company. During an important board of Directors meeting, Sam breaks into ENCOM headquarters, breaks the security systems and hacks their new and most powerful-secure operating system, being able to be downloaded for free. Sam is caught by the police and released few hours later. When he gets back home, Alan Bradley, Kevin's old friend and an executive consultant at ENCOM, went to visit Sam and told him that he was misteriously paged from a disconnected number at Flynn's abandoned arcade. Sam decides to go and check and explore the old closed place and he finds a hidden passage to his father's private computer lab. When he tries to beak into the system, he's transported to The Grid, a virtual domain inside the computer system.
As soon as he gets to the Grid, he's captured by sentinel programs, selected and prepared to compete in the Gladitorial Games (CGs - Precisely the game I loved to play in Intellivision). Sam defeats his oponents but he's questioned when they detect he's bleeding (he's an user, not a program). He's inmediately taken to Clu (Jeff Bridges) which Sam believes is his dad. Clu forces Sam to compete against him and when Sam is almost killed by Clu, he's saved by Quorra, Kevin's personal program assistant. She takes Sam to his father and they finally reunite after 20 years. Kevin explains Sam the reason why he disappeared and never came back, and Sam tries to convince him to go back to the real world, now that the door is open for a limit period of time.
From this moment on, Sam, Quorra and Kevin will try to get to the gate and come back to the real world, trying to evade Tron, Clu and his personal army to get Kevin's master identity disc.
I must say that I really enjoyed the film. Tron Legacy brings some pretty awesome visual effects and top class CGI, Jeff Bridges plays an amazing double role in this film (as Kevin and Clu), along with Olivia Wilde (Quorra) and Sam (Garrett Hedlund). Obviously, they left important clues to let you know that there will be a future sequel.
I've found some crossed and mixed comments and critics, some people have no idea about the story behind this film, since they never saw the first Tron, and that's understandable. I really enjoyed the film. I watched the first film over 20 years ago, I can't remember clearly most of the scenes and situations, but at least I still have some pretty good memories of the plot.
The important thing is that they tried to work the script in a way that you could understand what was happening and enjoy the film without the small details attached to the original film.
If you're a hi tech CGI movie lover, either you watched Tron or not, you definitely should watch this film.

Anyway, Skyline... I remember the time when the film came to theaters few weeks ago. I was totally excited and intrigued about all the great effects and action displayed on its trailers. Following great predecessor 'alien invasion' style films, like Independence Day, War of the Worlds, District 9, Alien, Predator, etc., a film like Skyline should easily offer the key elements to provide good entertainment to all those fans waiting for these alien films.
The plot is based in Los Angeles. A group of friends are having a crazy party night, when suddenly, some strange and shining lights start falling from sky. Everyone looking up and having eye contact with these lights is inmediately controlled by these alien invaders and vanish in the air. when Jarrod and Terry realize the're in great danger, they have no other option that fighting for their lives.
After 30-40 minutes, I'd assure that Skyline didn't offer anything new or different already offered by its predecessors. War of the World and District 9 brought great effects and a pretty strong plot. Skyline offers some pretty good effects and an amazing high quality video image and sound, but a pretty lousy plot. I couldn't feel identified with the cast, since... let's be honest on this one... I couldn't see Donald Faison (Scrubs) playing a thriller/action role in a film like this. I got completely lost and distracted, since the only image I had of this actor is the one playing comedy roles. All the main action and fighting scenes (even a nuclear attack) are deployed on the roof of a single building in LA, even though the invasion was finally shown as a global attack around the world.
Just when I thought it would be a complete lousy film with nothing new to offer, it suddenly took a weird turn and it felt like a weird collage of War of the World and Terminator film scenes with an unusual end. It was interesting though, in a weird way. The problem with this film? If the producers and directors were trying to prepare the plot and end for a sequel, I do believe that the reviews, comments and critics have revealed that it would be just a crazy decision.
To be honest, Skyline just got my attention through the last 30 minutes. The begining of the film had nothing interesting to offer other thansome cool effects.
If you're a fan of these kind of films, you might be entertained. If you're looking for a good 'alien invation' kinda film with a decent/strong plot, you will be severely disappointed.

What else can I say after watching the film two times? I just LOVED IT!
As soon as I left the theater in 2008, I was so excited about a future sequel. I was on top of all the news and updates about the sequel announced last year and I got anxious after watching the trailers. The first reviews I read about the film weren't the best ones. Many of them gave a low rate and said it wasn't as good as they'd expect it to be.
Well, I don't really know what is that "amazing" factor they could be expecting on this sequel. The truth is that I just loved it and it made honor to the first Iron Man, which was simply amazing.
The case was simply amazing. I know many people don't like Mickey Rourke or Scarlett Johansson, but noone could do a better job in their roles.
If you watched the first Iron Man, you aleady know about Tony Stark's unique sense of pride. and narcissism. That's what this sequel is all about. About his pride, his toys and knowledge. The film brings amazing action scenes, great CGI effects, good sense of humor, cool new toys, new enemies and a fresh and entertaining plot.
The interesting detail about the film was that Marvel used the film to give some tips and ideas about what's coming on the way, with all the "Avengers" movie series that will come in the near future.
Definitely one of the best action films of the year, even though, I know there will be great ones within the next few months :) I totally recommend the film
What did I like from this movie?
1. The cast. Great selection! No matter how controversial Scarlett Johansson or Mickey Rourke could be, they just made the difference in this film
2. The cool scene in Monaco and the portable Iron Man suit case
3. Robert Downey Jr nailed it again. Great performance
4. The good sense of humor in most of the scenes
5. Great action sequences
6. Marvel gave a vision of what is coming in the near future with all the "Avengers" movie series
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. I really enjoyed the film, the only detail I found was Samuel L. Jackson's performance. I DO really like him, but he was the darkest performance in this film
I would rate this movie with a 4/5

Synopsis: A motorcycle stuntman, Johnny Blaze, makes a pact with a dark force, selling his soul to save his girlfriend. When the bargain goes sour and the girl isn't saved, Blaze is transformed, gaining raging superpowers. Based on the Marvel comic series.

Starring: Nicolas Cage, Wes Bentley, Eva Mendes, Matthew Long, Peter Fonda
Directed by: Mark Steven Johnson
U.S. Rating: PG-13
It's been a while since we saw Nicolas Cage with a decent haircut, right? He has tried some different haircut style on his most recent films, and the truth is that none of them has really worked. But, no matter how ugly his hair might look, we can't say that he's such a good actor.
Anyway, if Ghost Rider didn't have Nicolas Cage as the lead role, the story of this film would be totally different. He gave life to the film and tried to cover the many different holes on this weak script.
Nicolas Cage is Johnny Blaze, a motorcycle stuntman who was forced to make a pact with the devil on his early years, just to save the life of his father, who was dying with a terminal cancer. Right the morning after he made this pact, his father was healthy and cured from his cancer, but he died that same day on an accident at one of his stunt acts. That day, Johnny left everything behind, especially his true and pure love Roxanne Simpson. He grew up and became a famous motorcycle while Roxanne became a famous journalist. They met at one of his stunt shows and from there on, destiny would help them to share their lives, experiences and tragedies.
The pact? Johnny sold his sold to the devil, and the devil wants to use him to fight his fights and collect those unpaid debts with some other demons. At the end of this fights, the devil wants to get all this power gained by Johnny, but he'll refuse and decides to be the Ghost Rider, just preparing the room for the sequel that is already on the "negotiating and script acceptance" process.
It is actually a good and enjoyable film. If you don't hold it under close scrutiny, it can be really entertaining. Especially because it can be considered an entertaining action/horror film being rated PG-13.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Really good CGI effects
2. Great cast involved in this film
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. A weak plot, not worth for the good CGI content and cast involved in the film

Synopsis: Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret which is a gift and a curse which torments him: he can see a few minutes into the future. Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling "winnings." But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.

Starring: Nicolas Cage, Julianne Moore, Jessica Biel, Tory Kittles, Michael Trucco
Directed by: Lee Tamahori
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Many of you know that I'm a Nicolas Cage movies fan. I follow all of his movies and try to watch them all. Next wasn't an exception. What I could say is that it was an exception to those good movies led by Nicolas Cage I've watched before. I like to think he went through a dark period of time working on some bad movies, like Next and Bangkok Dangerous, for example, and now he's back with some recent good movies and some new good projects he's been working on.
Next is about Cris Johnson, a guy with a special and unique supernatural power... he can see and predict "his future" and change the events according with the things and probabilities he sees from his future. He's well known in Las Vegas and he's been followed by the FBI to get his assistance in finding a dangerous terrorist group that is planning to attack the U.S. with a nuclear bomb. They want him to find them and prevent this attack. But first, they need to catch him. On this process, he meets Liz Cooper, someone he's seen in his visions and that will be related with all the "possible" events he will be involved in the future.
The FBI and the terrorist group take advantage of this situation and they will fight for getting him, or getting the girl... so he can collaborate with them (the FBI) , or simply be murdered by the terrorist group.
A really lazy and empty plot supported by such a great and talented cast. It's sad that with such an interesting idea, they didn't take advantage of it and brought a pretty basic and, in some occasions, a nonsense script. No matter what, it can be an entertaining film for a good weekend afternoon at home.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Good cast involved in this film
2. I really enjoyed the "idea" of this plot, but not the content
3. Some good effects and great quality image (especially on Blu Ray!)
4. I enjoyed the last scene, good end
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The script was really weak. The project of a guy seeing and predicting the future could give you thousands of better situations and ideas, but it seems that they just focused on some basic and nonsense ideas and brought them to the big screen, for example, the avalanche scene
2. I couldn't feel any chemistry between Nicolas Cage and Jessica Biel, at all!
I would rate this movie with a 2/5

Synopsis: An out-of-the-way diner becomes the unlikely battleground for the survival of the human race. When God loses faith in Mankind, he sends his legion of angels to bring on the Apocalypse. Humanity's only hope lies in a group of strangers trapped in a desert diner and the Archangel Michael.

Starring: Paul Bettany, Lucas Black, Tyrese Gibson, Adrianne Palicki, Charles S. Dutton
Directed by: Scott Charles Stewart
U.S. Rating: R
I'd personally describe Legion as an action film with some suspense/horror content. The horror content is not scary at all, totally predictable.
It is a little bit confusing to be followed. I mean, the whole thing of watching the Archangel Gabriel fighting against a legion of angels sent by God after losing the faith in mankind. But I could say that it comes to second place once you start watching the film and enjoying the action/horror/suspense scenes and situations.
Since the first moment I watched the trailer, I knew it would be an entertaining film. I had the chance to watch it and I'm not disappointed. The film offers some really good effects and action sequences. The amazing cast, selected for this film, plus some remarkable scenes helped this simple and totally predictable supernatural plot.
I will totally recommend you Legion if you don't mind to watch a "OK" action/horror/suspense film supported by a great cast.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Gladys Foster... I loved her! That crazy old lady definitely stole the show on this film
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. As said before, I was a little bit confused about the plot, maybe because I was trying to relate the reason of God sending his Angels to destroy humanity and Archangel Gabriel fights them back to protect a child and a bunch of people in a bar in the middle of the desert
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: It's the 21st century, but the gods of Mount Olympus and assorted monsters have walked out of the pages of high school student Percy Jackson's Greek mythology texts and into his life. And they're not happy: Zeus' lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Even more troubling is the sudden disappearance of Percy's mother. As Percy adapts to his newly discovered status as a demi-god (his father is Poseidon), he finds himself caught between the battling titans of Mt. Olympus. He and his friends embark on a cross-country adventure to catch the true lightning thief, save Percy's mom, and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves.

I'll try to be totally objective on this review. Harry Potter, sorry!... Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lighting Thief.
In a world where the Greek mythology gods and goddesses have kids with humans and they interact in between both worlds, Percy Jackson is Poseidon's son.
The story starts when Zeus and Poseidon meet at the top of the Empire State Building to discuss Zeus' missing lightning bolt, which he believes Percy, Poseidon's son, has stolen. Percy finds he can think best when underwater for 7 to 10 minutes at a time (of course, Poseidon was hs father and the god of the sea). His best friend is Grover, who is revealed as a sort of assistant demigod assigned to watch over him. His teacher is Mr. Brunner, who is actually Chiron, a centaur. (played by Pierce Brosnan) Percy thinks he is dyslexic, but it's only that his eyes instinctively turn English into Greek letters. After learning of his real identity, he goes off to Chiron's demigod training camp with Grover, and he becomes friends with Annabeth, a demi-goddess.
He loses his mother at the entrance of the camp and he decides to go to underground and help her to come back, after finding out that she lives and she's being kept there by Hades. He counts with the help of Annabeth and Grover. They will have to travel around the country trying to find three pearls which help them to return from hell once they get there. One of the best attractions among the gods is Medusa, played by Uma Thurman. She (and especially, her head) will play a key role in this film.
Everything rounds around the journey to underground and save his mother from hell. At the end, they have the chance to meet their parents (the gods) and go back to the camp, which I believe will be part of the future films related with this franchise and books.
What did I like from this movie?
1. I must be honest, the film brought some really amazing and entertaining CGI effects
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. It was like watching a lighter version of Harry Potter based in New York City. For those who don't know me, you should know that I'm an anti-Harry Potter person. I haven't read any of the books and have no intention of reading them in the future. I've watched 2 of the 6 films so far and I found them really boring. In fact, I felt asleep while I was watching one of them at the theater, something that never happened ever before! Yes, you might be saying... what?!?! But that's the truth. So, as I said, I felt like watching the American version of Harry Potter
2. The script and dialogues was really light and childish, ideally for kids
3. The cast performance wasn't as good as I'd expect from some of the great actors and actresses involved in this film
I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Synopsis: "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

Starring: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Tim Pocock, Troye Sivan, Tahyna Tozzi
Directed by: Gavin Hood
U.S. Rating: PG-13
Hugh Jackman did a great job on this film. A film with such an unique cast, great CGI effects and amazing action scenes. The best thing of the film is not just watching the plot and events related with Wolverine and his life, but having the chance of watching the film again on Blu Ray. It offered more content and deleted scenes showing how the film relates other prominent mutants in their early years (for example, Storm).
Wolverine could be considered the first film of the X-Men Origins series. We all know Fox and Marvel is already working on Magneto and Dead pool. It will keep a wide open window to these two companies to keep working on this amazing franchise and bring future films about the life of some of the most famous mutants.
I really enjoyed the film. I'm a huge fan of the franchise, even though, I can't consider this particular film at the same level of the previous X-Men films. Yes, it offers amazing effects, great cast, a good story, a good direction, but I think the trilogy brought stronger plots and entertainment to their fans. That's just my personal appreciation. No matter what, I totally recommend it!
What did I like from this movie?
1. Such an amazing cast and visual effects
2. I really enjoyed Hugh Jackman playing this role once again. I support what Stan Lee commented on this matter, that he couldn't see anyone else playing this role after all the previous films
3. I really enjoyed how they left the doors opened to relate this film with the future film of Dead pool
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. It was a pretty good and entertaining film, but compared with the X-Men Trilogy, there's something missing. I don't know if it is related with the direction or content
I would rate this movie with a 4/5

Synopsis: With stolen top-secret technology, terrorists have created a next-generation Universal Soldier - an elite fighter genetically altered into a programmable killing machine. With this "UniSol" (Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei "The Pit Bull" Arlovski) leading the way, they seize the crippled Chernobyl nuclear reactor, threatening to unleash a lethal radioactive cloud. The only one who can stop them is Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a UniSol who's been decommissioned for years. Reactivated and retrained, Deveraux must make a full-out assault on the heavily armed fortress. But inside, he'll discover not one but two of these virtually indestructible warriors. Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren), Deveraux's vicious UniSol enemy from the original Universal Soldier, has been secretly reanimated and upgraded. Now, these elite fighters are locked, loaded and programmed to kill; and the fate of millions hinges on this high-action showdown.

Starring: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Andrei Arlovski, Garry Cooper, Emily Joyce

There was a time when I was a huge fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme films. Yes, I was! I kinda enjoyed also Dolph Lundgren when he played the Russian boxer in Rocky IV, among other good old action films. I even enjoyed the first Universal Soldier, I really did. Those good times and films are history. I can't believe I would watch these two actors playing again in a sequel of this film eighteen years later!
These two actors, especially Jean Claude, are part of those rare cases of actors or actresses that get worse instead of improving with time. Universal Soldier: Regeneration is a vivid prove of this observation. I remember the first time I wrote about the future release of this film. I said that if there was someone perfect for this film, it was Jean Claude Van-Damme, just because he was the lead role in Universal Soldier more than 15 years ago. All the following sequels and films related with this franchise have been awful, extremely bad. I wasn't expecting this new sequel to be different or better than the previous ones, that's why I'm not impressed that it was released directly on DVD and Blu-Ray.
I had the chance to (hardly) watch the film on DVD and I was impressed of how awful these two - once famous - actors played their roles. It was a boring plot with no chemistry or emotions, nothing new and just a couple of good punches or kicks. That was all.
What did I like from this movie?
!. I thought I'd like to watch these two actors again but... I didn't
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The whole film!
I would rate this movie with a 1/5

I've watched the three X-Men films (plus X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and I must say that I am a huge fan of every single film of this successful franchise.
X-Men has brought some of the best and most enjoyable CGI effects to the big screen. I remember back in 2003 when X-Men 2 and Terminator 3 were released. I had so much expectations for both films, since one of my top favorite films of all times was Terminator 2: Judgment Day. I remember when I went to watch X-Men 2 and being in the theater... totally amazed watching the effects, plot and characters involved in this sequel. It was the first time ever that I left the theater without touching the candies and things I bought to eat while I was watching the film. I was so into the film that I didn't even remember I got some sweets to enjoy the film! I left the theater with such huge expectations for Terminator 3, since I knew it had to be terrific to be considered better than X-Men 2 that year, especially on the CGI effects aspect.
If I had to choose which one of these three X-Men films was the best, I'd say that the second one is the best so far. X-Men 3 delivered much more action and a large number of new mutants to the audience than the the two previous films, but the two previous films focused more on the lead characters and their stories.
I really enjoyed the action, the good sense of humor and especially, the amazing CGI effects and great mutant powers shown in this film. I just expect to have the chance to watch a new sequel of this great franchise any time soon. I know that two new films will be released soon (X-Men Origins: Magneto & Deadpool) but, I really want another sequel with all the team, especially knowing that X-Men 3 left some inconclusive details in its story.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The large number of mutants and their unique powers brought to this film
2. The amazing CGI effects
3. All the action involved in this film
4. The inconclusive details on the script that will lead to a future sequel
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. I think that we got lost with so many mutants on this sequel. I really enjoy having a few list of new mutants, so we can really enjoy their attributes and unique powers, and not just watch them in a couple of short scenes. This film focused less on the lead characters than the previous two
I would rate this movie with a 4/5

Synopsis: With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as the Joker, who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces the Dark Knight ever closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante.

Starring: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman
Directed by: Christopher Nolan
U.S. Rating: PG-13
One of the best films of all time. Definitely one of my top 5! No doubt about it! I'm a huge fan of Batman. I used to watch the old TV Series with all the "pow! bam! swaap!..." fighting scenes, the classic movies with Michael Keaton or Val Kilmer... and lately, the amazing ones with Christian Bale, directed by Christopher Nolan.
Nolan was able to deliver one of the most amazing and finest superhero movies in decades! The Dark Knight was a film that revealed the dark side of humans, all those crazy and psychotic instincts that turn men into animals. Heath Ledger playing The Joker was magnificent. He's the perfect example of what Nolan wanted to express on this film.
The Dark Knight is such a highly entertaining film containing all the perfect ingredients: An amazing cast who played their roles in such a brilliant way, impressive and spectacular action scenes, an amazing and unique script, customs, cars and weapons stunningly designed and an unfinished end, leaving everyone wanting more.
Totally recommended. As said before, it is one of the best films of all time. It is impressive to watch either on the big screen or a Blu-Ray (or even on a DVD!). If you haven't watched it, you should add it to your "must watch" personal list ASAP!
What did I like from this movie?
1. Definitely, the best of the film was Heath Ledger's performance. He made the film so worth to watch. I believe he set a standard for all future bad guys and Batman enemies. Every single one will have to "at least" be as amazing as he was on this film. He made his role so real, so tangible, so freaking scary!... "Why so serious, son?!... Let's put a smile in that face!"
2. All the cool gadgets, weapons and cars... simply amazing!
3. The cast, script and direction, such a great job and selection!

Synopsis: Susie Salmon, a young girl who has been murdered, watches over her family -- and her killer -- from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal.

Starring: Rachel Weisz, Mark Wahlberg, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli
Directed by: Peter Jackson
U.S. Rating: PG-13
A very entertaining film but confusing at the same time. Peter Jackson tried to adapt the famous novel into a film that missed some significant details trying just to compress all the content into the script and deliver as much emotions as he could. No matter what, it was a colorful and imaginary story, supported by an amazing cast and direction.
While I was watching this film, I couldn't stop thinking on the films The Invisible (Justin Chadwin) and What Dreams May Come (Robin Williams). You might ask... Why? Well, On the film The Invisible, Nick Powell (Justin Chadwin) is attacked by a few guys and is being left hurt to death, forcing him to walk and live in that intermediate area between "Earth and Heaven", watching everyone and not being seen. His job was trying to help the people involved in his life and incident to help him to be found and saved. On the film What Dreams May Come, Chris Nielsen (Robin Williams) dies and stays in an imaginary and extremely colorful world and he shows the importance of decisions and the consequences of these decisions through the story shown on this film.
This is exactly what happens in The Lovely Bones. It is about Susie Salmon, a young 14-year-old girl who is murdered by her neighbor in a terrible incident and she gets trapped in between "Earth and Heaven" trying to help her father and family to find her killer and make them coup with their sadness and move on with their lives.
The Lovely Bones offers a good and complex material, attempts to engage people's emotions through a really interesting, colorful and imaginative story. I personally loved it, so I'm more than confident to recommend it to everyone who wants to watch a very imaginative drama/suspense film with an amazing cast.
By the way, I recommend also the two other movies mentioned on this review :)
What did I like from this movie?
1. The cast involved was great and really enjoyable. In fact, Stanley Tucci's performance has been highly recognized for his role in this film
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. People might get lost or find it a little bit weird if they're not paying full attention to the story, since it is complex, mixing images and situations from both worlds, the imaginary world where Susie is living in, and the real world where everyone else is living at the moment
I would rate this movie with a 4/5

Synopsis: Peter Parker has finally managed to strike a balance between his devotion to M.J. and his duties as a superhero. But there is a storm brewing on the horizon. When his suit suddenly changes, turning jet-black and enhancing his powers, it transforms Peter as well, bringing out the dark, vengeful side of his personality that he is struggling to control. Under the influence of the suit, Peter becomes overconfident and starts to neglect the people who care for him most. Forced to choose between the seductive power of the new suit and the compassionate hero he used to be, Peter must overcome his personal demons as two of the most-feared villains yet, Sandman and Venom, gather unparalleled power and a thirst for retribution to threaten Peter and everyone he loves.

I had the chance to enjoy, once again, the opportunity to watch this amazing trilogy. To be honest, each one of them offers something different, and if I had to choose my favorite one, I would say that the third one is my top favorite. I love the three movies but, I believe that the third one has been able to offer much more material, action and stories about Peter Parker and Spider-Man than the two previous ones. In Spider-Man 3, we have the opportunity to watch a new fresh and amazing script, lots and lots of action scenes, we were able to see more from Peter Parker... fighting and using his powers without a mask. We were able to watch Spider-Man fighting not one, two, or three but four enemies in this film (Harry - the new Goblin, the Sandman, Venom and the dark side of Spider-Man). We also had the chance to see all the drama, love, trouble and romance involved in the relationship between Peter Parker and MJ. We saw the funny situations faced by Peter Parker while he's trying to balance his job with his super-hero responsibilities and his internal fight with his dark side, and his internal fight while he tried to revenge the death of his uncle and found the truth of what really happened (similar situation he faced with his friend Harry and his dad's death).
Such an amazing film and direction. I believe that the film accomplished the perfect combination: Strong script, amazing and creative direction, unique cast. I can only say that I'm more than excited to know that there will be a new sequel on the way, since an amazing work done with these three films can't be left incomplete.
Totally recommended! If you haven't watch it, you have no idea the fun you've missed with this trilogy, and especially, this film.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The script. They were able to include so much material and combine all in a fresh and strong script
2. The cast. Even though, this new sequel kept most of the original cast, the new characters were perfect for their roles
3. Sam Raimi did an amazing work again, great direction
4. The film was so colorful, fresh and loaded with everything you want... action, drama, romance, comedy

Synopsis: Orphaned at an early age, Peter Parker lives in Queens, New York with his beloved Aunt May and Uncle Ben. Peter leads the life of a normal student, working as a photographer at the school paper, pining after the beautiful Mary Jane Watson and hanging out with buddy Harry Osborn. On a school trip, during which Peter and his classmates are given a science demonstration on arachnids, Peter is bitten by a genetically-altered spider. Soon after, he discovers that he has unusual powers: he is endowed with the strength and agility of a spider along with a keen, ESP-like "spider-sense." Peter first uses his powers to make money, but in the face of a tragedy that hits close to home, he vows to dedicate his life to fighting crime, taking to heart the words of his beloved Uncle Ben: "With great power comes great responsibility." Meanwhile, megalomaniacal businessman Norman Osborn, Harry's father, is undergoing some changes of his own. An experimental formula has gone awry, increasing his intelligence and strength but also driving him insane. He is now the Green Goblin, Spider-Man's arch enemy, who will put young Peter Parker's vow to fight crime and help innocent people to the ultimate test.

I must say that I forgot all the times I've watched Spider-Man and its sequels, and honestly, I can't get enough of these films. I enjoy them every single time I watch them, and now that I've had the chance to watch them on Blu-Ray, it is even more amazing watching all the HD details involved in these films. Directed by Sam Raimi, I enjoyed his work because he was able to deliver the best of the scripts, enemies, power, responsibility, love, internal fights. and stories on this film and its sequels. An amazing cast selected for what is actually one of the best super-heroes trilogies so far. A film so colorful, fresh and energetic. I honestly can't wait for a new sequel! Totally recommended!

Synopsis: AVATAR takes us to a spectacular world beyond imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on an epic adventure, ultimately fighting to save the alien world he has learned to call home. James Cameron, the Oscar-winning director of "Titanic," first conceived the film 15 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not exist yet. Now, after four years of production, AVATAR, a live action film with a new generation of special effects, delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.
We enter the alien world through the eyes of Jake Sully, a former Marine confined to a wheelchair. But despite his broken body, Jake is still a warrior at heart. He is recruited to travel light years to the human outpost on Pandora, where corporations are mining a rare mineral that is the key to solving Earth's energy crisis. Because the atmosphere of Pandora is toxic, they have created the Avatar Program, in which human "drivers" have their consciousness linked to an avatar, a remotely-controlled biological body that can survive in the lethal air. These avatars are genetically engineered hybrids of human DNA mixed with DNA from the natives of Pandora... the Na'vi.
Reborn in his avatar form, Jake can walk again. He is given a mission to infiltrate the Na'vi, who have become a major obstacle to mining the precious ore. But a beautiful Na'vi female, Neytiri, saves Jake's life, and this changes everything. Jake is taken in by her clan, and learns to become one of them, which involves many tests and adventures. As Jake's relationship with his reluctant teacher Neytiri deepens, he learns to respect the Na'vi way and finally takes his place among them. Soon he will face the ultimate test as he leads them in an epic battle that will decide nothing less than the fate of an entire world.

This is one of the of those perfect examples of why we shouldn't take our decisions based on the critics, reviews and comments of those who claim to be professional movie critics. I'd say that 90% of the reviews that I read (most of them from important portals and newspapers) made me think that this film didn't have what it takes to make history. Of course, most of them said that the effects and 3D technology applied to the film were A1, but the plot was plain and boring. Most of them said that all this film had to offered was delivered within the first 30 minutes of the film. I spent the last 4 weeks going to the movie theaters making my decisions based on any other movie but Avatar, since I wasn't convinced it would be a film worth to watch.
I finally took my decision to go and watch Avatar this week after reading a couple of articles about the top 5 movies in box office's history. I noticed that Titanic has been in 1st place for about 10 years, collecting the impressive amount of $1.7 billions, but Avatar has reached the 2nd place in just 4 weeks after making $1.4 billions! There must be something that is making people going to the theaters and watch this film over and over again!
Avatar is one of those unique films that you MUST watch on theaters... in 3D! If you miss the chance, you're missing the beauty and the best of it! Avatar brings an unique and spectacular new era in especial effects, technology and film scripts.
What's Avatar all about?
Avatar is the story of Jake Sulley (Sam Worthington), a Marine who lost the use of his legs in combat. Jake had a twin brother, a scientist working and training for the Avatar project, who died in an incident. Jake was offered a new life in a new planet, taking his brother's place. This was extremely important, since the Avatars were bio-engineered bodies genetically coded to an specific human. Even though he hasn't got the specific training, Jake got engaged in the project and was able to take total control of his Avatar.
The RDA Comporation is leading the Avatar project in Pandora, the planet inhabited by the Na'vi, a blue-skinned species of sapient humanoids with feline characteristics. Pandora's atmosphere is toxic to human. This is the reason of the creation of Avatars, Na'vi bodies modified with human DNA that are controlled by genetically-matched, mentally-linked human operators. These Avatars let Marines get involved with the inhabitants of Pandora, learn their language and culture, trying to convince them to relocate and let the Corporation and its project to exploit Pandora's reserves of a valuable mineral called unobtanium, valued in $20 millions per kilo. The inhabitants fight against the invaders trying to protect their planet, nature and the fragile balance in their natural world.
Once Jake starts learning the language and culture, getting involved with the inhabitants, he starts learning the importance of their beliefs and nature protection. After a series of events, Jake takes side with the inhabitants and fights Colonel Miles Quaritch and his army with the support and help of the inhabitants and nature, fighting them in an epic battle.
Avatar is one of the most amazing films I've seen so far. James Cameron took technology and visual effects to a higher level. The images and motion capture employed for the film are more than impressive.
The plot, the weak side of the film - according with the "professional reviewers" - is simply amazing. It is actually a pretty basic plot... yes, but a simple and strong script that is able to deliver the drama, action and emotions needed for this amazing film. Everything was beautifully matched... the direction, cast, plot, technology, effects and images.
What did I like from this movie?
1. The 3D technology and CGI effects applied, incredible!
2. The plot is simple but strong and entertaining, it is able to deliver the message and idea of the script, and most important? It matches with the visual side of the film
3. The cast was perfect for the film
4. I loved how colorful the film is!
