Movie Review: Erin Brockovich

Thursday, December 31, 2009 1 comments

Synopsis: Based on the true story of a twice-divorced mother working as a low-level secretary at a Los Angeles law firm, a chronicle of a woman, without a law degree, who takes it upon herself to fight powerful corporate forces. Hired out of sympathy after her lawyer lost her personal injury suit, Brockovich stumbled upon the cover-up involving contaminated water in a small desert community, while working at the small law firm. Brockovich tracks a case of water poisoning created by PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric) and champions it all the way up the judicial ladder--becoming instrumental in rallying the over 600 plaintiffs and in helping them win the largest class-action suit of its type.

Starring: Julia Roberts, Albert Finney, Aaron Eckhart, Marg Helgenberger, David Brisbin
Directed by: Steven Soderbergh
U.S. Rating: R

Without hesitation, I must say that this in one of my favorite movies of all time. Julia Roberts played a role with such perfection that made everyone be involved not just in the story, but in Erin's life. Even though the script is based on a true story, the plot was so strong that made the combination plot/cast to obtain the perfect results. An interesting detail about the movie is that I never knew that the real Erin Brockovich had a small role played in this film! She played the role of Julia, the waitress. Everyone knows that I love films based on true stories. I watch and enjoyed them all (well, most of them), but this film was one of the best films based on true stories that I've ever watched. According with Wikipedia, the story shown on the plot is totally accurate, despite some minor details. I never get tired of watching this film, I always find it fascinating and so motivating. Totally recommended!

What did I like from this movie?

1. What I enjoyed the most was the story told on this film. They showed that Erin was a woman submerged in so many personal and financial problems and dilemmas like everybody else, with no higher education, but with the determination and dedication to achieve her goals and final results. She was able to work for others, expecting nothing back, just the joy of knowing that she helped other people to overcome injustice
2. Julia Robert's role. My respects for this amazing role played. I'm not a big fan of her, but I totally loved her work in this movie!
3. Great cast and strong plot

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. Nothing!

I would rate this movie with a 5/5

The movie trailer for the new sequel of Sex and the City has been released. Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda are back for a new adventure (or another episode?) Honestly, I haven't watched the TV Serie and hardly watched few minutes of the first movie so, I have no idea if this will be one of those movies watched on my list for 2010. If you're a fan of Sex and the City, I hope you enjoy this new movie trailer for Sex and the City 2!

Synopsis: The continuing story of Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha as they struggle to manage their love lives, friendships and careers in New York City.

Movie Review: America's Sweethearts

Wednesday, December 30, 2009 1 comments

Synopsis: Kiki Harrison is the devoted personal assistant to beautiful, narcissistic megastar Gwen Harrison. She also happens to be Gwen's sister. Life with her famous sister has never been easy for the awkward and self-conscious Kiki, but it's about to get even harder since she's agreed to help Gwen and her estranged actor husband Eddie Thomas reunite for one last public appearance to promote their latest movie. Veteran press agent Lee Phillips, on the brink of being replaced by his younger protege, is put in charge of masterminding this highly anticipated event. With Kiki as his secret weapon, Lee just might make this weekend go off without a hitch. At first it seems Lee and Kiki's biggest challenge is to maintain the peace between Gwen and Eddie and keep their high profile image intact, but soon Kiki finds she's faced with a more important concern as her longtime friendship with Eddie surprisingly begins to take a romantic turn.

Starring: Julia Roberts, Billy Crystal, John Cusack, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Hank Azaria
Directed by: Joe Roth
U.S. Rating: PG-13

Having such an amazing cast, America's Sweethearts could have been way much better than it really was. A comedy about that plastic and bold relationship between the entertainment press, Hollywood stars and public in general. The plot could have offered so much more, since they had so much material to bring a pretty strong romantic comedy script. No matter what, the unique cast was able to make the film so enjoyable and worth to watch. Each one of the people involved shined in their own sphere with their professionalism. Billy Crystal was amazing! He stole the show with his hilarious role of the smart and ingenious agent who takes advantage of every single situation and turned them into publicity for the movie and projects. Even though I think it could be so much better, I totally recommend this film for a good and quiet movie night.

What did I like from this movie?

1. Billy Crystal was the bomb in this film, excellent!
2. Hank Azaria's role (Hector) was hilarious, his Spanish accent and the fight he has at the Hotel restaurant

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. The plot was too plastic and could have offered more strong material

I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Few days ago, we released the first official movie trailer for Russell Crowe's latest film, Robin Hood. Universal Pictures has now released the new movie trailer (international version) for this film, about the story of the legendary hero. As said before, my only concern is... Will it be as good as Kevin Costner's version filmed in 1991? Time will tell. Meanwhile, enjoy this new trailer! It looks way better than the first one.

Synopsis: A telling of the origin of the legendary Robin Hood, the Sherwood Forest warrior who stole from the rich to give to the poor, sticking closely to the facts of the time. Robin is abandoned by his parents as a child and finds comfort and acceptance with the people of Nottingham. The traumas of his younger life leave him reluctant to fall in love, but that changes when he meets the headstrong Maid Marian.

CBS Films has released the first movie trailer for the film Beastly. Starring Vanessa Hudgens, Alex Pettyfer, Mary-Kate Olsen, Neil Patrick Harris, Peter Krause, Lisa Gay Hamilton and directed by Daniel Barnz, the film will be released in July 2010.

Synopsis: Kyle Kingson has it all – looks, intelligence, wealth and opportunity – and a wicked cruel streak. Prone to mocking and humiliating "aggressively unattractive" classmates, he zeroes in on Goth classmate Kendra, inviting her to the school's extravagant environmental bash. Kendra accepts, and, true to form, Kyle blows her off in a particularly savage fashion. She retaliates by casting a spell that physically transforms him into everything he despises. Enraged by his horrible and unrecognizable appearance he confronts Kendra and learns that the only solution to the curse is to find someone that will love him as he is – a task he considers impossible. Repulsed by his appearance, Kyle's callous father banishes him to Brooklyn with a sympathetic housekeeper and blind tutor. As Kyle ponders how to overcome the curse and get his old life back, he chances upon a drug addict in the act of killing a threatening dealer. Seizing the opportunity, Kyle promises the addict freedom and safety for his daughter Lindy if she will consent to live in Kyle's Brooklyn home. Movie Trailer: Frozen

Saturday, December 26, 2009 0 comments

It is interesting to see how can you make a movie from a simple situation like the one placed on this script. Three friends are accidentally left on a chairlift before their last run, when the ski patrol switches the lights off and leave them there. They're forced to spend the night on the cold and dangerous mountains, trying to fight the freezing weather and some other obstacles before they return to the ski resort. Frozen will be one of the first suspense/horror movies in 2010.

Synopsis: A typical day on the slopes turns into a chilling nightmare for three snowboarders when they get stranded on the chairlift before their last run. As the ski patrol switches off the night lights, they realize with growing panic that they've been left behind dangling high off the ground with no way down. With the resort closed until the following weekend and frostbite and hypothermia already setting in, the trio is forced to take desperate measures to escape off the mountain before they freeze to death. Once they make their move, they discover with horror that they have much more to fear than just the frigid cold. As they combat unexpected obstacles, they start to question if their will to survive is strong enough to overcome the worst ways to die.

I wasn't planning to post this movie trailer, since it isn't a movie in the first place! I can't deny it, I like some songs of Celine Dion, but I wouldn't EVER pay for a movie ticket to watch her on a big screen for 2 hours. If I'd like to see her, I would rather go to a concert, since there's no comparison between both experiences. I don't know if she thinks she can imitate the recent movie about Michael Jackson's last concert preparation, This Is It. We all know that the film This Is It was a huge worldwide success, even though it was on theaters for just a few weeks, it made history. This great success on the big screen is because it was about Michael Jackson! Celine Dion would not get half of this success on the big screen even if she dies at this moment! Sony Entertainment now has decided to release a concert with scenes and especial moments about her tour around the world. I don't know, this post is just my personal opinion, but I think that they should have released this movie concert on DVD instead of taking it to the big screen and try to get more pennies to their "already" grotesque bank account.

Synopsis: Celine Dion, the international superstar and best-selling female artist of all time, has toured around the world and back again, and now, Sony Pictures Releasing's special programming division, The Hot Ticket, will let audiences follow her everywhere. For a limited engagement beginning early next year in wide release, Celine: Through the Eyes of the World will bring Celine Dion's 2008-2009 Taking Chances World Tour to theaters. This special motion picture event gives Dion fans who attended the extremely popular tour – which placed Dion second only to Madonna in ticket sales in 2008 – another chance to experience the magical event, this time from a vantage point unparalleled by any ticket.

Here's the movie trailer for Denzel Washington's latest film, The Book of Eli, to be released on January 15th, 2010. I'm a huge fan of Denzel's work, even though, I haven't got excited about this new film yet. It seems to be a bit dark and I can't see him in those "fighting" scenes, I can't see him as that kind of fighting actors, he has so much talent that he doesn't need to get those kind of roles. Bu hey... that doesn't mean that I won't watch it! As I said, I'm a big fan of his work.

By the way, I've added the two latest TV Spot released for the film. Enjoy them!

Synopsis: A lone hero must fight his way across the wasteland of post-apocalyptic America to protect a sacred book that holds the key to saving the future of humanity.

Movie Review: 300

Friday, December 25, 2009 1 comments

Synopsis: In the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy.

Starring: Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, Michael Fassbender, Vincent Regan, Dominic West
Directed by: Zack Snyder
U.S. Rating: R

The film is all about a group of 300 Spartan soldiers fighting for their families and freedom against the Persian King Xerxes and his army of 1 million soldiers. The film is an adaptation of the novel written by Frank Miller, who also wrote and directed Sin City and The Spirit. The best offered by this film is the amazing CGI effects and all the computerized sets where all the battles take place. Battles take more than 70% of the film, so it means that the film is all about the titanic battles between this strong, well-trained and motivated group of soldiers followed by Leonidas, the Spartan King (Gerard Butler) and this huge Persian army with more than 1 million soldiers. I could say that it is Gerard Butler's best action performance so far! The plot doesn't have much to offer, it is all about the graphic battles and all the CGI applied throughout all the film. A very colorful film, not just in its graphics, but the violent images on every battle. No matter how simple the plot might be, or how violent it is in some of its images, it is actually a really good and enjoyable action/war film.

What did I like from this movie?

1. The CGI and quality of the images are excellent!
2. Even though the plot is pretty basic, it is totally enjoyable, since there's a balance. The graphics and visual content makes it really enjoyable

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. Being a film written & produced by Frank Miller (who also worked on Sin City and The Spirit) and directed by Zack Snyder (who also worked with films like Watchmen), makes it easy to understand the reason of the kind of plot, bloody violence and grotesc situations and fictional charaters

I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Movie Review: John Tucker Must Die

Thursday, December 24, 2009 1 comments

Synopsis: When three popular girls from different cliques discover they've all been dating the school stud, they band together to seek revenge. Despite the jerk's charm and ever-growing popularity, the girls cleverly scheme with the help of the inconspicuous new girl in town, to soil his reputation and break his heart.

Starring: Jesse Metcalfe, Sophia Bush, Brittany Snow, Ashanti, Arielle Kebbel
Directed by: Betty Thomas
U.S. Rating: PG-13

As a typical high-school revenge comedy film, John Tucker Must Die is not the worst, but not quite as good as other teen films from our list either. Offering few smile-worthy gags and goofy, romantic situations. It also offers a pretty simple, basic but entertaining script and cast. Sadly, it is as good as forgettable! I remember the first time I watched it, it was kind of goofy but entertaining, but few days later, I couldn't even remember most of the situations shown on this film. Jesse Metcalfe, who became more notorious on TV after his role as the teenage gardener on Desperate Houswives plays the role of John Tucker, the guys who has it all... fame, captain of the school basket ball team, not one... or two... but three girlfriends! who gets the revenge of his three ex-girlfriends with the help of the humble and charming girl who hasn't had a boyfriend ever before... Brittany Snow. It could be considered worth to watch on a long day or weekend at home if you have nothing else to do and Netflix can't offer anything better :)

What did I like from this movie?

1. Young and fresh cast, it is always good to watch a good cast of fresh young people that are actually good performers
2. There are some funny situations

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. We can't expect a really good material from these cheesy teen films

I would rate this movie with a 2/5

Being a huge fan of the first movie, I can't wait to watch this new sequel!

Synopsis: Tony Stark’s revealing of his identity is taking its toll on him: it’s maybe fun to be Iron Man but he’s somehow depressed. Besides Miss Pepper Pott has a new boyfriend! Fortunately he’s gonna meet the gorgeous Black Widow, maybe she’ll fix his broken heart…

Movie Review: Transmorphers

Wednesday, December 23, 2009 0 comments

Synopsis: Driven underground by alien robots, humanity's last hope for survival rests in a ragtag group of humans with a plan to destroy this mechanical horde once and for all.

Starring: Matt Wolf, Amy Weber, Griff Furst
Directed by: Leigh Scott
U.S. Rating: PG-13

I've read many different articles and reviews including the lists of the worst movies ever made. I've found so many different opinions and movies in these lists, but noone has ever mentioned or included Transmorphers! I'm so convinced that this film should be included in the highest rank of the worst movies ever made of all times...!

I wanted to watch the movie because I was highly recommended to watch it. Of course, I was advised that it could be considered the worst movie I could have ever watched... and believe me, I've watched horrible and crappy movies in my life! First, I decided to watch the trailer in Youtube, just to get an idea of the plot or something that would show me how bad it could be. The trailer was ok, nothing especial, but it hid professionally all its crappy content!

What was my surprise? I found more than the movie trailer in Youtube... I found the whole movie there. I clicked on the first clip and see how it was, since it was there, in Youtube. It would be extremely painful to rent something like this, believe me!

Then, something extremely weird happened. I found this film so... but sooo horrible, that it was actually hilarious and entertaining!!! I had to skip a few extremely boring parts, and I ended up watching the whole film.

I have my very own personal list of the worst films ever made, but it was totally shaken after watching this movie! I had to re-think all my values and rating system, since I was taken into a new dimension of bad films. So far, Transmorphers has made it to the top!

If I had to describe the plot, I could say that it is a cheap collage of the Terminator saga and Transformers, Universal Soldiers, Matrix Revolutions, aliens, robots... all mixed up in just one script, supported by the worst CGI effects ever created (Superman IV in 1987 had better effects!) and the most terrible actors/actresses ever placed in a film. 85% of the movie is filmed in 2 rooms and a short corredor. The script is so bad that there's so many details that make no sense at all!

According with the futuristic plot, the actors/actresses are being forced to live underground and developed a plan to defeat these robots who have conquered and dominated the Earth for over 300 years. All of them dress jeans, t-shirts and leather jackets. I've seen street skaters better protected than these guys, who wear a vest and other small things to protect their bodies. Their weapons are actually pretty funny! They look like they're made of PVC! When they used their weapons, the crappy effects (sounds and lights) don't match with their movements... it is so mediocre that makes it actually funny!

And if all this wasn't enough, the end of the film is so bad that if I had to pay for a DVD to watch the way it ends, I would go back... not to the DVD store, but to the DVD distributor!... and would have asked for my money back, plus a compensation for the time I lost watching this piece of garbage!

Anyway, if you want to watch the film, you can watch it from Youtube, just like I did. In fact, you can watch it with some comments added by the user who posted the film in Youtube. He really makes it enjoyable and hilarious!

Click here to watch it from Youtube

What did I like from this movie?

1. It has made me write the most extensive movie review so far in this blog!
2. I just found out that they made a new sequel this year, and it came to Blu-Ray!

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. Everything!

I know that our rating system is from 1 to 5, but I'll break the rule this time... I would rate this movie with a 0/5

Movie Review: The Family Man

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 0 comments

Synopsis: Jack Campbell is a Wall Street trader living the high life in New York City. When Jack, who has forsaken all for the pursuit of money, becomes involved in a grocery store holdup, everything changes. He awakens the next morning, on a snowy Christmas day, lying in bed next to a wife--Kate, the college sweetheart he dumped when his career ambitions took hold--whom he never married, and in a house with two kids he never had. Now living in New Jersey in an alternate suburban universe, he has a chance to see how his life would have turned out had he married Kate and raised a family. Jack soon begins to feel strangely comfortable in the new role of loving husband and father, finding himself happy in the life he would have led had he made different choices as a young man.

Starring: Nicolas Cage, Téa Leoni, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Piven, Saul Rubinek
Directed by: Brett Ratner
U.S. Rating: PG-13

An ideal movie for the Christmas season without being a Christmas movie! Yes, it is a Christmas movie, but the message is not about Christmas. It is all about the importance of Family upon any other temporal interests like work, professional success, fame or money. The Family Man is such a great family movie for a quiet and relaxing movie night to be enjoyed with the loved one. I must be honest and say that I didn't feel any chemistry between Nicolas Cage and Téa Leoni, but it doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy their roles and the way they worked together. Both of them were brilliant in their own dimension and roles. When we put all together: their amazingly well performed roles, the strong script and the season, the results are really enjoyable. Totally recommended!

What did I like from this movie?

1. What I liked the most was the end, since it was totally unexpected. After switching his wealthy and successful professional & single life to his married life with so many financial limitations and different career, I was expecting that he'd decide to choose to maintain his second stage after experiencing the importance of family and true happiness, but... I was wrong, and I liked the final
2. Both lead roles were nicely played, even though, if I had to choose the best one, I could say that Téa Leoni played an amazing role in this movie

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. I didn't find anything wrong with the film, even though, it was kinda corny in a couple of times (but I still liked it!)

I would rate this movie with a 4/5

A new movie trailer for the film Alice in Wonderland has been released this week. As far as I can see, I could say that it look as good as freaky it can get! As said in the first trailer review, Alice in Wonderland couldn't get a better actor and a more creative director as Jhonny Deep and Tim Burton.

Movie Review: ExTerminators

Monday, December 21, 2009 0 comments

Synopsis: Three women who meet in anger management therapy decide to form a traditional business using very untraditional methods.

Starring: Heather Graham, Jennifer Coolidge, Matthew Settle, Amber Heard, Joey Lauren Adams
Directed by: John Inwood
U.S. Rating: PG-13

To start, I should say that this movie offers such an interesting comedy/suspense combination! It is about a woman (Heather Graham) who's convicted to attend a Anger Management program for a year after she punched a man in the face at a shop. In these therapy sessions, she meets three other girls and become friend of them, going out to a bar every week after their sessions. After one of the girls being physically abused by her husband in front of the group at the bar, they decide to follow the guy and "get rid of him". What finally was declared by an accident, became in a low profile untraditional business. The girls started offering (and being referred) their services of "Ex" Terminations to all those women abused by their ex husbands. Loaded with some hilarious situations, the plot offers also some light suspense, keeping a balance and interest in the situations throughout all the film, offering a really funny ending. A good option for all those who want to watch a different comedy.

What did I like from this movie?

1. Some of the dialogues and comments made by these women were hilarious!
2. The whole situation with the IRS guy is really funny, right up to the end!
3. The moment when she (Heather) punched the guy in the face, so funny!
4. Heather's glasses, so nerdy looking glasses!

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. It was a pretty standard comedy drama. It was ok for what it offered

I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Movie Review: Collateral Damage

Sunday, December 20, 2009 0 comments

Synopsis: In one fleeting moment, L.A. firefighter Gordy Brewer loses everything he ever cared about. Running late to meet his wife and young son at a downtown high-rise, the devoted family man arrives in time to witness a bomb explode, showering the area with debris and shattered glass. The explosion is credited to 'El Lobo, The Wolf', an infamous rebel leader in Colombia's decades-long civil war. The intended targets were members of the Colombian consulate and American intelligence agents; its casualties included one civilian woman and one small boy--Gordy's family, innocent people who lost their lives for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Gordy's only consolation for the loss of his family is the hope that the Wolf will be stopped before he has a chance to strike again. When the official U.S. investigation into the Wolf stalls, Gordy realizes that bringing the terrorist to justice is no longer a priority to anyone but himself. Gordy heads to war-torn Colombia to track him down alone.

Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Francesca Neri, Elias Koteas, Cliff Curtis, John Leguizamo
Directed by: Andrew Davis, Billy Burton
U.S. Rating: R

I'd like to start saying that if the lead role was played by any other actor but Arnold Schwarzenegger, it would have been such a disaster. Arnold Schwarzenegger made the difference in this film. Even though, the plot is based on a fictional act of terrorism, I could say that it didn't offer a political/social view, just a personal view of a fireman who loses his wife and son in a terrorist attack against the Colombian embassy in American soil. When he notices that the federal government is not doing enough to identify and capture the responsible of this terrorist act, he decides to travel to Colombia in a dangerous adventure that will lead him to the head of the terrorist group. Filled with so much fictional situations, this action movie offers nothing but big explosions, crazy situations in the middle of the jungle and a twisted final. I remember that this film was one of the first movies that had to be edited right after the event of 9/11, since it had some sensitive material (terrorist attack in American soil). This might be the reason, besides that it was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, that I felt motivated to go and watch the film in a theater.

What did I like from this movie?

1. The first part of the film (first 20-30 minutes) was quite interesting and promising
2. I enjoyed the final, it was kind of unexpected

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. How come a blond, blue eyed, huge sack of muscles can be walking and taking buses in the middle of the Colombian jungle without being noticed?!
2. The lead role was a fireman, but he did act in the middle of the jungle like he was trained by some kind of military elite force!
3. All the scenes related with the rebel group sucked, the real Colombian rebel groups might felt offended by the way they're shown in this film

I would rate this movie with a 2/5

Movie Review: Planet 51

Saturday, December 19, 2009 0 comments

Synopsis: American astronaut Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker, lands on Planet 51 thinking he's the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world reminiscent of a cheerfully innocent 1950s America, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders--like Chuck! With the help of his robot companion "Rover" and his new friend Lem, Chuck must navigate his way through the dazzling, but bewildering, landscape of Planet 51 in order to escape becoming a permanent part of the Planet 51 Alien Invaders Space Museum.

Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Gary Oldman, John Cleese, Lewis MacLeod, Emma Tate
Directed by: Jorge Blanco, Javier Abad, Marcos Martinez
U.S. Rating: PG

I should start saying that I really enjoyed the funny point of view of the plot... The astronaut that lands in Planet 51 thinking that he'd be the first person to step foot in it, but hey! he finds out that he's not the first person in that planet, but he's also considered as a dangerous alien who's coming to control and destroy the inhabitants of the planet. The inhabitants of Planet 51 suffer of a crazy Alien paranoia, thinking that they will arrive in any moment and will take control of their minds and planet. A pretty basic but charming and fresh plot that can be enjoyed by every single member of the family (I could say that adults would enjoyed it as much - or more! - than kids). Planet 51 offers such a CG animated quality image that could be compared with any amazing quality images from Pixar movies. Totally recommended for kids... and adults!

What did I like from this movie?

1. The CG animated images are simply amazing!
2. Great cast involved with the voices
3. The "alien" dog... my TOP favorite one! I totally laughed when the dog fooled the post man

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. I enjoyed the first half more than the second half. Maybe because it was so predictable

I would rate this movie with a 3/5

Movie Review: Soccer Mom

Friday, December 18, 2009 0 comments

Synopsis: Widowed Wendy Handler longs to be closer to her thirteen year old daughter, soccer obsessed Becca, so she concocts an elaborate disguise, that of Italian star Lorenzo Fulograppa, and becomes the new 'star' of the girls' soccer team.

Starring: Missi Pyle, Emily Osment, Kristen Wilson, Percy 'Master P' P, Elon Gold
Directed by: Gregory McClatchy
U.S. Rating: PG

I'm not a big fan of these kind of cheesy kids movies, even though, I can say that this film was quite entertaining. Missi Pyle played a funny lead role in this film as the mother and Lorenzo Vincenzo, a famous international soccer player from Italy. Trying to help and motivate her daughter , Missi Pyle will do everything and anything to make her daughter enjoy what she loves the most, soccer. A cheesy plot but really entertaining and freshly played. A good option for a quiet afternoon with the kids.

What did I like from this movie?

1. The make-up was really funny! She actually looked like the guy she was trying to represent
2. As said, it is a cheesy but fresh plot, easy to watch

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. Why does every single movie about soccer is represented by women?

I would rate this movie with a 3/5

The second trailer for Sam Worthington' film, Clash of The Titans. has been released. I recognized that the first trailer didn't convince me, even though it seemed to be a pretty good epic plot with amazing CGI effects. Now that I've watched this second trailer, I could say that it has been sold! Loaded with great CGI effects , an amazing cast and what it seems to be a strong plot, I personally believe it will be one of the great epic films in 2010.

Synopsis: The ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus is helpless to save his family from Hades, vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

Release Date: March 26th, 2010
