Starring: Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Helen Mirren, Robin Wright Penn
Directed by: Kevin MacDonald
U.S. Rating: PG-13

An excellent thriller with an amazing cast. This plot offers great drama, intriguing situations, action and suspense. This movie was a film adaptation from a British TV serial of the same name Russell Crowe plays the role of a very intuitive and risky journalist that helps to probe the suspicious death of Congressman's mistress. Ben Affleck plays the Congressman who's been involved in this critical situation. Crowe and Affleck were college roommates and Crowe tries to dig deep just to try to help his old friend and his wife, trying to probe that he's been played, due to the important and sensitive cases related with national security and powerful military contractors. The movie moves from all the different steps and situations of this investigation, until the moment when Crowe discovers the truth behind the assassinations and the true reasons involved in this situation. A tricky final that could be unexpected for most of us. 100% recommended, one of the best thrillers of the year so far.

What did I like from this movie?

1. I'm a big fan of these thriller movies that helps you to think about the whole situation, trying to solve the puzzle in your mind before you get to the final
2. Great cast. Rachel McAdams plays a reat supporting role as the newbie journalist that helps Crowe to get to the bottom of this investigation
3. I really laughed with Bateman when he's being taken to this cheap motel and he complains that there's no pay per view or drinks in the bar

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. The plot wasn't perfect, it could offer more, especially, having such a great cast. The dialogues are not that memorable, forgettable, but the movie as a complete entity is a great production

I would rate this movie with a 4/5
