Movie Review: Spider-Man 2

Saturday, November 21, 2009
Synopsis: Two years have passed since the mild-mannered Peter Parker walked away from his longtime love Mary Jane Watson and decided to take the road to responsibility as Spider-Man. Peter must face new challenges as he struggles to cope with "the gift and the curse" of his powers, while balancing his dual identities as the elusive superhero Spider-Man and life as a college student. The relationships Peter holds most dear are now in danger of unraveling as he clashes with the powerful, multi-tentacled villain Doctor Octopus aka "Doc Ock." Peter's life-long yearning for M.J. becomes even stronger as he fights the impulse to abandon his secret life and declare his love. In the meantime, M.J. has moved on with her life. She has embarked on an acting career and has a new man in her life. Peter's relationship with his best friend Harry Osborn has been overshadowed by Harry's growing vendetta against Spider-Man, whom he holds responsible for his father's death. Peter's life becomes even more complicated when he is pitted against a powerful new nemesis, Dr. Otto Octavius--"Doc Ock." Peter must now learn to accept his fate and harness all his superhero talents in order to stop this diabolical madman in his octagonal tracks.

No doubt about it, one of my top favorite superhero franchises so far. This first sequel brings a pretty entertaining and strong plot, great and unique cast and amazing CGI effects! Peter Parker is back to protect the city of New York. The only problem? Peter has to fight with some internal conflicts and dilemmas about the love of his life. Such a strong and amazingly directed plot. Alfred Molina played such an amazing role as Doctor Octopus in this sequel. Totally recommended!

What did I like from this movie?

1. All the CGI effects involved not just in this sequel, but the other sequels!
2. Great cast involved in this new plot and sequel
3. One of the things I enjoy the most from this franchise is the strong scripts offered and filmed, giving the opportunity to every single viewer be entertained in all manners

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. Nothing, after enjoying a very entertaining plot, amazing CGI effects and knowing that there will be great material for more sequels, there's nothing I dislike at all from this movie

I would rate this movie with a 4/5
