Synopsis: Searching for his missing sister, Clay Miller heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake, where he stumbles on the creaky remains of rotting old cabins behind moss-covered trees. And that's not the only thing lying in wait under the brush. Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay pursues what few leads he has in the search for his missing sister, Whitney, with the help of Jenna, a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up for an all-thrills weekend. But they are all about to find much more than they bargained for. Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying specters in American film history -- the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.
Starring: Julianna Guill, America Olivo, Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, Danielle Panabaker
Directed by: Marcus Nispel
U.S. Rating: R
The latest remake of this famous and classic movie horror franchise. Friday the 13th brings new deathly situations in Crystal Lake, great effects and scary scenes, by the hand of one of the creepiest film horror creatures... Jason Voorhees. One of the "must see" films for a Halloween weekend. On this new remake, I was a bit confused during the first part of the movie, since I believed the 5 people camping in Crystal Lake would be the main characters involved in this plot, but they were just part of it, but then they tied the rest of the story when they place in the story a new group of people (plus a single guy looking for his missing sister who was among the first group). A plain and basic plot about survival, since the whole point of it is watching Jason killing everyone... one by one... without saying a single word.
What did I like from this movie?
1. There were some really good effects
2. A funny moment, when the Asian guy is playing with the hockey stick, he meets Jason and tries to give him the stick saying that it would complete his outfit
3. The very last scene, totally unexpected! (really?!)
4. Jason's appearance, really creepy!
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. A very predictable plot, even though, it was entertaining
2. I believe that Jason's role is the easiest one ever! He doesn't say a single word in this film, just running and killing people with his machete!
I would rate this movie with a 3/5
