Synopsis: During the Cuban Revolution of 1958-59, the three brothers of the Fellove family are ruined: brother Luis supports Castro as a clandestine terrorist and is killed by the forces of Batista; brother Ricardo joins Castro's forces as a freedom fighter and kills himself when he realizes that Castro is just another power-hungry dictator; and wary brother Fico, a nightclub entrepreneur, stays apolitical during the Revolution and sees his life's work confiscated by Castro's puritanical and acquisitive goons.

Great movie. I personally believe that you can only understand deeply the message expressed in this movie by living a similar experience in your life. Andy Garcia, a Cuban-American plays the role of the business entrepreneur owner of a famous Cuban night club in the late 50's, when the country is being ruled by dictator Fulgencio Batista and the country is being attacked by Fidel Castro's guerrilla. Many people can't understand what really happened in these years, the things that so many people had to face, properties and businesses they had to lose in the name of the revolution, people who died for no reason, just because they didn't support the revolution or accepted the forced changes proposed by Castro and his comrades. Many people admire El Che Guevara, without knowing that he personally killed in cold blood more than 100 people, just because they didn't support the revolution. At least, Andy Garcia shows from a personal perspective some of the truths lived by hundred of families during those years, and many people are still facing in other countries that have been influenced by this cancer called Marxist Socialism led by Fidel Castro (like mine, Venezuela). A great movie with a sad but powerful message. A plot with such a great cast. Even though this production comes with a Hollywood cliche, I could say that it is worth to watch.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Such a great cast in this movie: Andy Garcia, Bill Murray, Dustin Hoffman, etc
2. The pictures, customs and places remind us those days, the great Cuba that has stopped in time
3. The way they show in just a short time (1 hour), how life changed for so, so many people during those very few years
4. How life can go on when you want to make it all work for you, no matter if you have to start from scratch
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. They could have shown even more terrible things about Fidel and Guevara's changes and things done during those first years, but the plot was sad and complete enough to express a good message
I would rate this movie with a 4/5
