Following the sequel, Transformers 2 (Revenge of the Fallen) is loaded with action scenes, lots and lots of explosions and an excellent plot, offering action, suspense, comedy and drama from the very first minute to the end of the movie.
The story begins when the Autobots and the military are being waging a secret war against the Decepticons. As more of the giant robots continue to resurface, though, it becomes apparent the Transformers have been part of Earth’s history for longer than they’d led mankind to believe. One group of bureaucrats from the US goverment even wonders if the Decepticons are only appearing because of the Autobot presence. Desperate not to leave Earth undefended, Optimus Prime turns to Sam Witwicky and asks him to help them, someone who will convince mankind that the Autobots should be allowed to stay among them. Sam refuses to believe he can help, though, wanting to go to college and live a normal life – as normal as possible with the strange thoughts and visions that have haunted him since being exposed to the All Spark’s primal energies two years earlier. Sam’s refusal will have harsh consequences for himself, the Autobots and possibly the entire world. The Decepticons fallen leader, Megatron has been resurrected and brings with him an ancient evil from the Transformers own history to fight against the Autobots, human race and take control of the Earth.
What did I like from this movie?
1. Being produced in HD is one of the most fascinating things about this movie. The image quality, colors and effects are simply something extraordinary.
2. The sound is really great also. The sound of the explosions, metal crunch, guns, fights and engines make it so real and entertaining.
3. There are some really funny moments on this plot. Even though is a movie loaded with lots of action and explotions, the plot includes some really funny scenes and situations.
4. New robots take part of the plot. I personally loved the old Jetfire. This is a fighter plane that crash-landed on Earth a long time ago, and he will become a reformed Decepticon now fighting for the humans. His alternate form is the SR-71 Blackbird, the outdated but still-sleek Cold War spy plane. He’s old, craggy, forgetful … doesn’t work very well. Can’t transform very well, because he’s very geriatric. Really funny, but becomes in a key support on the Autobots' victory.
5. The views and effects. I personally love Egypt so, being filmed in this region (the final battle) made it really interesting.
What did I dislike from this movie?
1. The movie took longer than expected. The lenght of this movie is 2 hours and 24 minutes (plus the 30 minutes of trailers and commercials at the beggining of the movie, you do the math!... recommendation: Go to the toilet before it starts, or you'll miss the best scenes!)
2. We couldn't expect more from the plot, besides the excesive amount of explosions and the amazing effects, sound and images.
I would rate this movie with a 4/5

Enjoy it!... Watch it!
I don't know what it is about the Transformer movies but I absolutely LOVE them! Even the negative parts to the movie (like the humping robot pet) I just overlooked. Transformers are one of my favorite "hero" characters. I love the innately good heroes - like Superman, Spiderman, and Optimus Prime.
