Movie Review: Daddy Day Care

Wednesday, April 7, 2010
Synopsis: Charlie and Phil are so consumed by their high profile advertising jobs that they are completely missing out on the joys of fatherhood. After failing to excite the public about vegetable cereal, Charlie and Phil are fired from their ad jobs. That means no more expensive day care for their sons at the exclusive Chapman Academy, run by the harsh taskmistress Miss Gwyneth Harridan. While floundering aimlessly in search of employment and tending to his four-year-old son Ben during the day while his wife Kim is at work, Charlie has an idea. If he and Phil can handle taking care of two kids, how much harder can it be to supervise ten? Much harder than they ever imagined. Every kid is different and every one is a hilarious challenge, whether they're suffering from sugar rush, fantasizing about being super heroes, or just demolishing everything in sight, Charlie and Phil soon realize they are in over their heads. Way over their heads.

Another good and entertaining film with Eddie Murphy. It's been a while since we saw Eddie in a good action/thriller film, or at least, a good adult comedy film. He's been totally engaged in these kind of kids comedy films for few years now, so I would really want to watch him in one of those great films who made him famous.

Daddy Day Care is not bad at all. In fact, is one of the best kids comedy films he's played in so far. I totally enjoyed the film. It is a pretty simple plot, but the script is funny and enjoyable. It will definitely make you laugh and will keep you and your kids entertained.

If you haven't watched it yet, Daddy Day Care is about Charlie, a successful advertisement agent who has recently lost his job. He decides to take care of the house and baby sit his little kid Ben, while his wife works. His friend and co-worker Phil lost his job also. On a day out with their kids, they find an opportunity to make some money as baby sitters. With this idea, they decide to open "Daddy Day Care" a home-based child-care service.

Facing some crazy, bizarre and really funny situations, they will soon progress on their business and will become to a threat to an important school in the area.

This experience will help Charlie to share more and better experiences with his son, know him better and see what really matters in his life. When Charlie and Phil get their job back, they have to stop taking care of all the kids they have been attending, but when Charlie realizes how important this experience has been for him and his kid, he quits... convinces Phil to quit and they focus on their promising Daddy Day Care business.

If you're looking for a good and goofy comedy film, this is a great option to watch.
