Eddie Murphy is back in another corky, silly but entertaining comedy film. Eddie Murphy seems that he either has been trapped into the same character stereotype for the last few years, playing the same kind of comedies and being away from those great movies that made him so famous in the past. Anyway, Imagine That offers some few great surprises, just like Yara Shahidi's amazing first performance on the big screen, or the weird and so exotic Thomas Haden Church's supporting role. The plot is based on a successful financial analyst who needs more than magic to save his career. Eddie needs to balance his professional and personal life, trying to find time to share more with his daugther, who's been playing with a "magical blanket" that allows her to talk with invisible friends. These friends give her vital information for the future and they help her and especially Eddie, to succeed on his career and financial projects. A really silly comedy with a really entertaining and moral message. A good movie for a family movie night.

What did I like from this movie?

1. I really enjoyed the way the director starts with the scene when Eddie is trying to recover the blanket and get more information for his job, the way he starts in the middle, goes back and finishes almost in the same place
2. Nicole Ari Parker, a beautiful exotic-good looking woman :)
3. Yara Shahidi's performance. This kid played such an impressive and fresh role in this movie. Great presentation for her first time on a movie

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. Eddie Murphy has been playing these cheesy roles for a long time. It's time for him to go back and start playing those great action/comedy roles that made him famous

I would rate this movie with a 3/5
