Movie Review: Creep

Wednesday, October 21, 2009
Synopsis: London, midnight, on a cold evening. Unable to find a taxi, Kate heads for the Underground. She takes a seat away from the crowd of late-night revelers and waits for the last train. Before long she drifts off to sleep and wakes to find everyone gone. She momentarily panics until another train pulls in. She boards, unnerved that she's the only passenger, but relieved at last to be on her way. Halfway through the tunnel the train jerks to a violent halt. The lights shut off and the train is plunged into darkness. Kate screams, she is trapped, in the dark--and she is not alone. Her nightmare has only just begun.

Starring: Franka Potente, Vas Blackwood, Sean Harris, Ken Campbell, Jeremy Sheffield
Directed by: Chris Smith
U.S. Rating: R

I decided to read some previous reviews about Creep before spending 90 minutes of my time watching this film. We borrowed the movie from some friends who recommended us the film so, with this recommendation and the reviews I read, I thought we could enjoy a nice scary British horror film. Honestly, it is one of the worst horror films I've seen in years. It is all about blood, screaming, running, spending 5 minutes in a poop tank with another random guy and kill the bad guy just seconds before the doors are opened for the first train of the morning. I noticed that many people have enjoyed this horror film, I should ask them what's the catch in it, since I didn't get it.

What did I like from this movie?

1. When the girl finally kills the weirdo and lays on the floor at the underground terminal and the guy in the blue suit gets close to her and drops some coins right next to her thinking that she's a homeless

What did I dislike from this movie?

1. So many fake screaming scenes
2. The girl goes through one of the most traumatic situations in life, and she just lays in the floor like nothing happens, and she even laughs when the guy drops the coins on the floor
3. It didn't need too much effort for the actors in this movie. Most of them had only like 2 or 3 conversation lines before they were killed

I would rate this movie with a 1/5
