Sony Pictures released a new (International) movie trailer for Adam Sandler's latest film, Grown Ups. Now that we have more material on these new trailers, it looks a little bit silly, but really entertaining at the same time. I believe it will be a good option for this next summer, offering a great comedy cast and what seems to be an interesting and funny plot.

A very entertaining film but confusing at the same time. Peter Jackson tried to adapt the famous novel into a film that missed some significant details trying just to compress all the content into the script and deliver as much emotions as he could. No matter what, it was a colorful and imaginary story, supported by an amazing cast and direction.
While I was watching this film, I couldn't stop thinking on the films The Invisible (Justin Chadwin) and What Dreams May Come (Robin Williams). You might ask... Why? Well, On the film The Invisible, Nick Powell (Justin Chadwin) is attacked by a few guys and is being left hurt to death, forcing him to walk and live in that intermediate area between "Earth and Heaven", watching everyone and not being seen. His job was trying to help the people involved in his life and incident to help him to be found and saved. On the film What Dreams May Come, Chris Nielsen (Robin Williams) dies and stays in an imaginary and extremely colorful world and he shows the importance of decisions and the consequences of these decisions through the story shown on this film.
This is exactly what happens in The Lovely Bones. It is about Susie Salmon, a young 14-year-old girl who is murdered by her neighbor in a terrible incident and she gets trapped in between "Earth and Heaven" trying to help her father and family to find her killer and make them coup with their sadness and move on with their lives.
The Lovely Bones offers a good and complex material, attempts to engage people's emotions through a really interesting, colorful and imaginative story. I personally loved it, so I'm more than confident to recommend it to everyone who wants to watch a very imaginative drama/suspense film with an amazing cast.
By the way, I recommend also the two other movies mentioned on this review :)

I'm a huge fan of Chris Rock. I enjoy his movies, TV Shows and especially, his comedy stand up shows. This time, Chris has come with something completely different... a documentary. When Chris Rock's daughter, Lola, came up to him crying and asked, "Daddy, how come I don't have good hair?", Chris decided to search the reasons behind that question and find the cultural, financial and social areas related with one of the most important things in women's lives, especially black women... their hair :)
In a very fresh and really funny way, Chris discovers many things that honestly, I didn't know and never heard about women's hair. Before I watched this documentary, I never heard about relaxers, I never... ever knew that these beautiful and famous black actresses used weaves (I didn't even know what a weave was!), I knew about the Indian hair, but never knew some of the things said and shown on this documentary, and finally, the millionaire industry behind the hair, especially, black women's hair. How can a woman pay from 1000 to 5000 dollars for a weave, and some women replace them every month!... Crazy!
A really entertaining, fresh and funny documentary, so worth to watch! Chris Rock nailed it in this, his first comedy/documentary about... hair.

A script empty of good content, ideas and no funny at all. It offered some sexist, bizarre and non-sense situations, The cast was pretty boring, especially Tucker Cleigh (Trevor Moore) who seemed to take the lead role after the first 1/3 part of the film. The more he appeared in camera and talked, the more annoying he became.
Miss March, an unfunny comedy only recommended as a very last option, and you must be conscious that you're getting what many people considered one of the worst movies out in 2009!

Here's a great news for all those lovers of Tony Jaa films, just like me! The movie trailer for the new Ong Bak sequel has been released. Ong Bak 3 brings again all those great and impressive stunts and martial arts displayed in all the previous films. Tony Jaa, as said before in this blog, is one of the most impressive martial arts fighter I've seen in a long time. Forget about Jet Li, Jackie Chan and all those great fighters, this guy brings a new dimension of stunts, combat and fights. Can't wait to watch it!

This time, Nicolas Cage is a cop in New Orleands, right after the devastation, chaos and desolation created by the Hurricane Katrina. He's good at his job, he loves what he does. But when this devotion and hard work is mixed with a potential weakness... drugs, we all know the end of the story. On this story, Terence McDonagh is trying to manage his chronic back pain and long hours at work with pain killers and drugs. Suddenly, drugs start replacing these pain killers and his addiction lead him from one decision and action to another one until he finds himself involved in some dangerous situations. He has to take important and smart decisions against an important drug dealer, ruthless shark loaners, important business men and keep/clean his public image.
A dark drama/thriller with a really good performance played by Nicolas Cage, supported by an unique cast. If you're a Nicolas Cage's films fan, then you must watch this film.

1. It's a dark thriller, but really well played by the lead role and the rest of the cast involved
2. I totally laughed with the non-sense scene with the iguanas! So funny!
3. I enjoyed the end, even though he sucked and kept being corrupted in some (or most of the) ways, at least he took all the bad guys down
4. Terence McDonagh's love for his gun! hehehe... and the way he walked caused by his back pain
